The Frozen Romance of the Little Potatoes of the South experienced the 14th Winter Games

When the warmth of the south is embraced by the cold wind of the north, the "little potato" who grew up in the south has always been curious about the world of ice and snow, as a person who rarely sees snowflakes falling, those figures rolling and jumping on the TV screen are both distant and mysterious to me. This time, I took the opportunity of the 14th National Winter Games to prepare to experience the excitement and passion and feel the charm of the northern winter.

Arriving in the northern city from Guiyang, a biting cold wind rushed in his face, shivering, but his mood was extremely hot. The streets along the way are full of posters and bunting of the Winter Games, and the air is filled with a festive atmosphere. There is such a place in Hulunbuir City, which has the reputation of "Suzhou and Hangzhou" - Zhalantun.

Poetry is not in Suzhou and Hangzhou, secluded Zhalan Tianfang", this is the famous literary master Mr. Lao She in the late 60s of the 20th century when he visited Zhalantun in the summer of the beautiful poems, so Zhalantun Jinlongshan Ski Resort has become the first choice for many ski enthusiasts in China, and is listed as one of the sub-venues of the 14th National Winter Games. It is responsible for hosting 7 ski events with a total of 33 events, including freestyle skiing aerials, moguls, freestyle halfpipes, snowboard halfpipes, big air, slope obstacle courses, and ski mountaineering, and is one of the closest ski training bases and excellent ski resorts in China.

Jinlongshan Ski Resort is located 8 kilometers northwest of Zhalantun City, with a scenic area of 100 hectares, an altitude of 582 meters above sea level and a vertical drop of 200 meters. There are 18 ski slopes with a total length of 16 kilometers, 4 passenger ropeways, 2 magic carpets, and a total length of 3,124 meters.

When you arrive at the venue, everything seems so new. Heavy cotton clothes, a beanie, and gloves became my daily outfit, and every white breath I exhaled made me feel excited. And when I stood on that snow-covered field, I couldn't put it into words. Surrounded by rolling snow-capped mountains, with an ice-hard ice skating rink beneath your feet, laughter and the roar of snowmobiles can be heard not far away. It's a world of speed and power.

With a whistle, the game officially began. Athletes dance, jump, and glide on the ice, each move is full of power and beauty. The athletes next to them galloped down from the high snow-capped mountains, their postures were vigorous, like eagles in the wind. I can't help but be impressed by their courage and skill, and I can't help but sigh in my heart that the charm of northern ice and snow sports is endless.

Especially in the open class of the **U-shaped competition, I was impressed by the graceful spins and precise jumps of the competitors. They seem to be completely unconstrained by gravity, and are free to perform beautiful music belonging to ice and snow on the ice. Witnessing the demeanor of the athletes, I also experienced the diversity and charm of different regional cultures.

In addition to the competition itself, I also developed a strong interest in the culture of the North. In the interval between the competition, I visited the Zhalantun Suspension Bridge Park, the sports of the 14th winter, ice sculpture, speed skating, turning, etc. are vivid, and the 12 zodiac ice sculptures next to them have been favored by the local people, and everyone has taken photos of their zodiac signs. This is where artists use ice chisels and saws to carve ordinary ice cubes into beautiful works of art. The ice sculptures sparkled with a charming glow in the light and gave me a lot of respect for this traditional art.

In addition, I also tasted authentic northern snacks, rock sugar gourd, moon cake and pei, haggis soup, iced mutton, Northeast barbecue, and stew, which are also very distinctive, and I felt a completely different way of life from the south. Despite the different climatic conditions, people's love and enjoyment of life are the same. In the laughter, I felt the hospitality of the northern people and the unique charm of the ice and snow culture.

This trip to the north has been very fruitful for my little potato from the south. I enjoyed the wonderful ice and snow competitions, and also felt the charm of ice and snow sports in the north. More importantly, this journey taught me that courage and curiosity are the driving forces to explore the unknown. Only by bravely stepping out of your comfort zone can you enjoy more beautiful scenery and experiences.
