Reddit user SpottedMe (via Sammobile) found that the Galaxy Ring is currently on good Lock's device list alongside products like the Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Buds, and you can display the battery status on the widget.
Given that the Ring itself isn't yet available, having it on this list doesn't make much of a difference at this time, but it does indicate that Samsung has provided the necessary updates to its good Lock app to support the Galaxy Ring widget soon.
Here's how the Samsung Galaxy Ring appears in the Good Lock app:
As for what we know about the Galaxy Ring so far, Samsung executive Patrick Chomet confirmed to Techradar that the device will offer "some features from Samsung Health that are really impressive when it comes to sleep". As a result, we are almost certain that it will offer sleep tracking, similar to the excellent oura ring.
Prior to the launch of the Galaxy Ring on the Galaxy Unpacked, Samsung had also filed several trademark and patent applications for smart rings equipped with ECG and PPG sensors, so it's safe to assume that the Galaxy Ring might be able to measure heart rate and detect irregular heartbeats.
Rumor has it that the Ring may also be fitted with an SPO2 monitoring sensor, which will allow it to detect blood oxygen saturation, although we have not seen concrete evidence of this feature.
However, we've heard about potential weight and color options for rings. A recent report from Sammobile claimed that **i Greengart had experienced a prototype version of the Samsung Galaxy Ring firsthand. According to Greengart (from Threads), the device is "extremely" lightweight and is available in a variety of sizes, with a maximum size of 13(22.)2 mm). In addition, Greengart claims that the Galaxy Ring will be available in three different finishes.
Regardless, Samsung has confirmed that its Health app will get a "major update" "later this year", so it makes sense that the Galaxy Ring will be unveiled alongside these software changes. Perhaps we'll see it at the company's next Galaxy Unpacked event, which is expected to take place in July or August.
