On 26 February, a roundtable on "Ecological Security in the SCO Member States" was held in Beijing, attended by Cui Dandan, Inspector II of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People's Republic of China.

Cui Dandan said that China attaches great importance to the protection of ecological security, and regards ecological security as an important foundation for promoting the construction of ecological civilization and achieving sustainable development. The first is to clearly incorporate ecological security into the first-class system; The second is to continue to fight the battle to defend the blue sky, clear water and pure land, and strengthen the treatment of solid waste and new pollutants; the third is to continue to consolidate the ecological environment security line of defense; Fourth, we have deeply participated in global environmental and climate governance, actively participated in the global climate change negotiation process, successfully held the 15th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, and further promoted the green Belt and Road Initiative.

Cui Dandan stressed that the ecological environment of the SCO region is fragile, and ecological security is under great threat, and solidarity and cooperation are the only way for countries to deal with ecological security risks. China attaches great importance to the SCO's ecological and environmental cooperation, has established the China-SCO Cooperation Center on Environmental Protection, promoted the conclusion of the Statement of the SCO Heads of State Council on Combating Climate Change, built the SCO Environmental Protection Information Sharing Platform, explored the construction of the China-SCO Ecological and Environmental Protection Innovation Base, and held seminars and exchange activities.
