When it comes to Chongqing, its "8D magic" always comes first, and this unique city has attracted the attention of many young people.

The owner of the case is a young woman born in the 95s who chose to stay in Chongqing after graduating from university. She likes the convenience and liveliness of the old town, but also loves reading, ** and coffee, she will record the bits and pieces of life every day, showing her sensitivity to beauty.

She bought a 50-square-meter small apartment in the old community, and she hopes to create a small world that matches her temperament, full of nostalgia and strength, where she can find a moment of tranquility in the busy city life.

The original unit was a small two-bedroom unit of 50 square meters, with compact and limited space, and some areas were even less than 1 square meter. The designer abandoned the unusable space and replanned and integrated the original space to create a bachelor apartment full of freedom and fun.

The designer has made a bold renovation to divide the overall space into two areas, the owner's lounge area on the left and the spacious living, kitchen and dining space on the right.

Renovation Highlights:

1. In view of the fact that the owner lives alone, only one bedroom is retained, and the original living room is changed to the main bedroom.

2. Merge the original two small bedrooms into a living room and dining room.

3. Expand the kitchen space, remove the partition wall to achieve an open design, make the kitchen more spacious and bright, and change the orientation to shorten the dining line.

4. Use the original living room space to establish a corridor, and cleverly separate the dry area of the bathroom and the independent entrance area.

Entrance hall

After the renovation, an independent entrance area was added, which not only realized the necessary storage functions for entering the house through cabinets, shoe changing stools and clothes hanging areas, but also provided a transitional area for the owners, adding a sense of ritual to go home.

The two small paintings facing the entrance door are decorated and handmade by the designer using the remaining walls of the kitchen.

Living room

In the limited space, the designer increased the layering of the space through the original structure and the difference in different heights, which complemented the temperament of Chongqing.

The living room and balcony area are designed with two floors, and the different heights naturally define different functional areas, so that the dining table, sofa, tatami mats, storage and windowside stools and other elements are perfectly integrated, forming a three-dimensional staggered space.

The dining room is opposite the living room, and the floor structure is clear at a glance. A large area of raw wood is made of raw wood with milk tea-colored walls, with harmonious and comfortable colors, exuding a warm and nostalgic atmosphere.

Due to the large number and low structure of the original beams, traditional suspended ceilings waste a lot of space height. After repeated discussions between the designer and the owner, the problem was cleverly solved through the slope roof design, and it also became the main feeling of the cottage.

Taking into account the living habits of the owners, the living room abandons the TV set and uses the wall thickness to design an open bookcase, and the owner will choose a book that suits the mood in his leisure time, curl up on the sofa, turn on the wall lamp, and enjoy a relaxing time.

A second floor has been added near the balcony, with flexible venetian blinds and fresh monstera, where owners can enjoy tea and relax and rest.

Restaurant

The dining table is located between the living room and the kitchen, naturally dividing the different areas, taking advantage of the height of the floor to replace the stools on one side, while the hanging paper spherical lamps create a quiet atmosphere in the Japanese style, making the dining more quiet and warm.

Grab a book and make a cup of coffee on the table, and the table becomes a second reading area in addition to meal time.

Kitchen

The open kitchen is closely connected to the dining room, and the kitchen that originally faced the living room has been opened up to achieve a nearly 8-meter-long worktop, and a coffee corner is planned for the owners.

The cabinets are pure white, with mosaic vintage green handmade bricks and simple log shelves, making the kitchen a fresh and comfortable place to stay throughout the house.

Secret passages

The floor of the living room balcony leads to the bedroom, which becomes a "secret passage" to the cottage, from which the owner says she can jump directly onto the bed.

The owner's free reading space has also been extended, and in this sloping hut, you can always find a comfortable corner to read, whether you are sitting, leaning, lying down or lying on your stomach.

The balcony faces the bedroom, and the passage is all wooden, like a mysterious "wooden box", which evokes the owner's memories of the happy days of childhood.

Bedrooms

The bedroom is simple and unadorned, without excessive decoration, continuing the overall wood and milk tea tones, and the chest of drawers and dressing table at the foot of the bed provide storage and makeup care for daily small items.

The traditional headboard has been eliminated, the aisle space at the foot of the bed has been increased, and the full-wall wardrobe on the side of the bed provides ample storage space for the hostess.

A storage compartment is designed between the head of the bed and the floor to store the owner's bedtime readings, and the bay window of the bedroom is also wrapped in wood, forming another safe and comfortable "wooden box", which is also very comfortable to read.

The entrance to the bedroom is a sliding door that does not take up space, and three small windows are opened on the wall next to it, and mosaic glass is installed to let in light and protect privacy.

Behind the sliding door is the main passage, which connects the entire space with the "secret passage", so that the space is fully opened.

Bathroom

At the end of the corridor outside the bedroom is the bathroom, which improves the quality of life by making reasonable use of the width of the corridor and separating the dry and wet bathroom.

The surroundings of the complex are very lively and full of life.

This is a small home full of personal characteristics, and it also reflects the life attitude of contemporary young people, who are less and less bound by the world's vision, and are more willing to pursue the true feelings of their hearts and live in the present.
