On February 22, 2024, Shi Yuzhu, chairman of Giant Network, proposed at the company's internal meeting that artificial intelligence (AI) has become a new field as important as the game business in the company. He foresees that this year will be a critical period for the rapid development of AI technology, saying that Giant Network has made good achievements in this field and looks forward to further seizing opportunities.

Shi Yuzhu speaks at an internal meeting of the Giant Network.

Shi Yuzhu said: "We used to have only one game business, and now we have added the second largest business, which is artificial intelligence. He recalls that although the company's early investment in AI did not bear fruit immediately (including the acquisition of Israeli AI game company Playtika), Giant Network has seen a turnaround with the open source technology of several major companies in the United States.

He further explained: "The open source of AI giants provides an equal starting point for domestic AI companies. With sufficient attention and investment, we have achieved good results in the field of AI, and our game model has been made, and the evaluation level is not low, and we may still be at the forefront of China. ”

Shi Yuzhu has high hopes for the company's future in the field of AI: "This year is likely to usher in the explosion of artificial intelligence, with the advent of the era of artificial intelligence, we have made a good start in this field, and hope to seize the opportunity to do this sector." ”

Recently, Giant Network announced that it has officially completed the filing of GiantGPT, a large game AI model, becoming the first company in the game industry to confirm that it has achieved this achievement, marking the company's important progress in the field of artificial intelligence. GiantGPT is a vertical large model focusing on game business, which combines high-quality self-owned data and Internet public data training, and conducts in-depth optimization for basic capabilities such as role deduction, situational reasoning and long-term memory, and its application performance in Giant's own game business scenarios is significantly better than that of closed-source general large models at home and abroad.

Since the establishment of the AI Lab at the end of 2022, Giant Network launched the "Game + AI" efficiency platform in 2023, covering multiple aspects of game development, operation and distribution. Using a variety of AIGC technologies, the company has established an industrial production pipeline, covering images, audio, text, models, strategies and other fields.

Looking ahead to 2024, Giant Network plans to introduce new AI gameplay powered by GiantGPT in its mobile game Space Kill, which is expected to bring gamers an unprecedented new experience. In addition, the newly developed AI NPCs (non-player characters) have been tested in some core products, and it is expected that they will be widely used in more products this year.
