Cao Ping, born in December 1967, is a graduate student, a doctor of economics, a member of the middle school, and a professor. He used to be the executive deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Sichuan University, the executive deputy secretary of the Party Committee of Sichuan University and the dean of the School of Marxism, the outstanding talent of the new century of the Ministry of Education, the academic and technical leader of Sichuan Province, the member of the Marxist Theory Professional Teaching and Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education, and the vice chairman of the Sichuan Provincial Federation of Social Sciences, the vice president of the Sichuan Provincial Central History Society, and the vice chairman of the Chengdu Federation of Social Sciences. He is currently the Secretary of the Party Committee of the University of Electronic Science and Technology

His main research interests include the study of the sinicization of Marxism and party building.

Scientific research and awards: He has presided over nearly 30 scientific research projects at all levels, including 2 major and specially commissioned projects of Marxist theory research and construction projects and 2 major and specially commissioned projects of national social sciences, 2 general and special projects of national social sciences, 3 sub-projects of major bidding projects of national social sciences, and more than 10 provincial and ministerial planning projects (including those of the Ministry of Education). In 1995, he graduated from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, majoring in electromagnetic field and microwave technology. He received his master's degree and doctorate degree from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in 1998 and 2000 respectively. In 2001, he was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Electronic Engineering, City University of Hong Kong, and in 2010, he was a visiting scholar at The Ohio State University. In 2011, he was a visiting professor at the City University of Hong Kong. From 2002 to 2006, he successively served as the deputy secretary and secretary of the Party branch of the Department of Microwave Engineering, School of Electronic Engineering, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, the deputy dean of the School of Electronic Engineering from 2006 to 2009, and the secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Electronic Engineering in December 2009. In May 2015, he was appointed as the Director of Human Resources Department. In June 2017, he concurrently served as the head of the Teacher Work Department of the Party Committee. In recent years, he has presided over more than 10 national projects such as the National Natural Science Innovation Research Group Project, the main research key project, the 973 project, and the 863 project. He has published more than 300 research papers in authoritative journals and conferences at home and abroad.
