Recently, the Chinese Cultural Center in Cairo, together with the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Chengdu City, the Sichuan-Chongqing Chamber of Commerce in Egypt (in preparation), and the Sichuan-Chongqing Association of Egypt, donated more than 200 volumes (sets) of Chinese encyclopedias, local chronicles, folk culture and tourism books and audio-visual products such as "Encyclopedia of China", "Bashu Cultural Chronicles" and "Tianfu Folk Customs and Grass" to the School of Language and Translation of Badr University in Egypt and the Chinese School of Deren in Egypt.
Shao Bin, deputy director of the Chinese Cultural Center in Cairo, said in his donation speech that books are the ladder of human progress, and hoped that the students of the Chinese Department of Badr University will work hard to learn Chinese, have a deep understanding of Chinese culture, and contribute to the friendship between China and Egypt and the friendship between the people. Shao Bin encouraged the students of Deren Chinese School, as overseas Chinese youths, to care about the rejuvenation of the motherland and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, inherit the excellent traditional Chinese culture, and strive to become cultural envoys to spread Sino-Egyptian friendship.
The heads of the two universities expressed their gratitude to the China Cultural Center in Cairo and relevant Chinese institutions. The heads of the Egyptian Sichuan-Chongqing Chamber of Commerce (in preparation) and the Sichuan-Chongqing Association said that they would continue to support the development of Chinese education in Egypt together with the Chengdu ** Overseas Chinese Affairs Office.
