At 1152 kilometers of National Highway 315, there is a special rescue station - Mangya Comprehensive Rescue Station. The average age of the rescue team here is only 25 years old, and they guard the safety of traffic and people in the vast Gobi Desert. Mangya Comprehensive Rescue Station is located in the deepest part of the 800-mile Hanhai Gobi, adjacent to National Highway 315 and Huangmang Expressway, and 80 kilometers away from the nearest Mangya City. On National Highway 315, there are many freight vehicles traveling to and from Qinghai**, and the road conditions are complex, so in order to solve the rescue problems of long distance, long time and great difficulty, this comprehensive rescue station was set up in March 2022.
At 12 o'clock at noon, someone called the police to say that the family drove the vehicle to the Oboliang area 300 kilometers away from the cliff and the vehicle was trapped, and then lost contact, everyone quickly prepared and rushed to the rescue site.
At 5 p.m., the rescue team arrived at the Oboryadan landform, which is known as "the most Mars-like place on Earth".
At 7 p.m., it was getting dark. The temperature here will drop below minus 20 degrees Celsius, and with a variety of wildlife threats and a lack of oxygen on the plateau, it will be life-threatening if you are trapped here at night. At 9 p.m., after more than four hours of searching, rescuers finally found the three missing people 5 kilometers away from the trapped vehicle.
At the end of the 12-hour rescue effort, a bowl of hot instant noodles was the first bite of the day.
The unique natural scenery of Northwest China, such as the Oboliang Yadan landform, Emerald Lake, and Aiken Spring, attracts many tourists and has become a tourist destination for people to check in by car. However, it is also a no-man's land where accidents are frequent, and the integrated rescue station participates in dozens of rescue missions every year.
On National Highway 315, the number of freight vehicles traveling to and from Qinghai and Xinjiang has increased significantly, and the young people of the Mangya Comprehensive Rescue Station have held their positions here, waiting for the day, and writing their youth and responsibility on the Hanhai Gobi.
