The Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) is the first agency under the Ministry of Law of Singapore. In Singapore, the applicant must apply to IPOS to register a trademark and obtain protection under the local laws of Singapore.
Why register a Singapore trademark?
Trademarks are territorial, and if the goods or services are in Singapore, or there is an intention to use them in Singapore, the trademark needs to be registered in Singapore, otherwise the trademark may be preemptively registered and may be charged with infringement.

The trademark certificate is valid for 10 years, which can be renewed half a year before expiration, and the validity period can be extended for 10 years for each renewal. Grace period of 6 months.

4. Fill in one copy of the trademark application form.
Precautions
1. According to the relevant instructions of IPOS, the successfully registered trademark may also be revoked or invalidated, which may mainly appear in the following situations:
Cancellation of Trademark:
The trademark owner has not used the trademark within 5 years from the completion of the registration;
The use of the trademark is suspended for a period of five consecutive years;
As a result of the trademark owner's actions or activities, the trademark becomes a common name within the scope of goods and services for which it is registered**;
The use of the trademark misleads the public, particularly in relation to the nature of the goods or services.
Invalid:
violates the basic requirements of the Trade Marks Act for the registration of a trademark;
There is a conflict between the trademark and the earlier trademark;
The registered trademark has been judged to have been fraudulent;
Misrepresentation in the application process.
2. If you need to change the name or address of the registered holder, you can submit an application for change of registration in the trademark register to the trademark office in the form of a written letter, which should indicate the registration number of the relevant trademark and the content of the application for change of registration.
3. In order to improve the efficiency of registration, before applying for a registered trademark, it is recommended that the applicant check the trademark to be registered from the following four dimensions:

Conduct a trademark search. If a similar or identical mark is found, and the mark is protected by similar and identical goods or services specified in the trademark application, the application may be rejected.
Check whether the goods or services applied for are properly classified according to the Nice Classification.
