The Gaoligongshan Tunnel of Dalui Railway is the first railway tunnel across the Hengduan Mountains in China, and the construction area has crossed 19 geological fault zones, covering almost all the poor geological conditions of tunnel construction, such as mud burst, water inrush, rockburst, and weak surrounding rock. The total length of the Gaoligong Mountain Tunnel is 345km, the maximum buried depth of more than 1,100 meters, is the Dalui railway project. In order to increase the working surface and speed up the construction progress, the China Railway Tunnel Bureau excavated the No. 1 shaft and the No. 2 shaft respectively 9 kilometers away from the entrance and 13 kilometers away from the exit. The shaft is a vertical tunnel connected to the tunnel excavated above the tunnel, which is the channel for tunnel construction to enter and exit slag, air circulation, and personnel to enter and exit. "Now that I've come to the No. 2 shaft of the Gaoligong Mountain Tunnel, I'm going to experience the super project buried deep in the "center of the earth" with the staff, let's go. Shaft 2 has a vertical depth of 640 meters, which is equivalent to the height of a 200-story building. Under the leadership of Shao Linjiang, Minister of Engineering, the reporter walked into the special elevator tank for the first time and headed underground. Lou Zhongxiang: "I'll remember a time to see how long we went down to the bottom of the well, it is indeed a very deep shaft, my eardrum is uncomfortable during the descent, are we fast?" As the elevator continued to descend, it was pitch black all around, but the sound of water in the ears was getting louder and louder, and through the faint flashlight, the reporter saw that the seepage of the well wall was getting bigger and bigger. After about 6 minutes of travel, the reporter reached the bottom of the well. The construction area is crisscrossed by roadways, and Shao Linjiang, minister of engineering, told reporters that there are more than 15,000 square meters here, the size of 35 basketball courts, and more than 30 machines are started at the same time in 8 working faces every day. Due to the need to cross 16 extrusion and crushing zones in the construction area, the main tunnel has only been excavated for more than 240 meters, which is extremely difficult to construct. Shao Linjiang: "I'll give you a unique performance, called 'hand-digging granite'." Lou Zhongxiang: "These will be dropped as soon as they are buttoned." Shao Linjiang: "Yes, these are the granites that have been weathered and turned into mud when exposed to water. Shaft 2 runs through seven aquifers, and the weak surrounding rock is often accompanied by mud inrushes and water inflows, with a maximum water pressure of 7 megapascals, equivalent to 700 meters of water. "Waterfall overhead and pedal stream" is the norm of underground construction. In such an environment, more than 600 slag slag needs to be transported to the surface through the bottom of the shaft slag transfer system every day, and a hooker needs to pull a one-ton hook by hand an average of 60 times a day. At the bottom of the No. 2 shaft, reporter Lou Zhongxiang learned the details of the daily work from Libin, the hook project: "It's just that the water is big, you see." The maximum water inflow from Well No. 2 reached 140 cubic meters per hour, far exceeding the safe water output. In the underground pumping room at a depth of 640 meters, seven high-power centrifugal pumps are on standby. Pumping worker Xu **'s hometown is far away in Jiayuguan, Gansu Province, and he and another colleague stick to this post all year round. This year's Spring Festival will be the eighth year that he has not gone home for the New Year.
