After 15 years, the canonical sequel to the world-famous classic game series "Mana" has finally been unveiled - "Visions of Mana". This game, which was once known as Mystic Journey or Final Fantasy Adventure, is unique in the hearts of players for its unique approach to jRPGs. While the long hiatus has left many fans with little hope for a sequel, the announcement of Visions of Mana has undoubtedly ignited the enthusiasm of veteran players, and it also deserves the attention of newcomers who have never set foot in the series before, as it contains a wealth of exploration and secrets.
Although no specific date has yet been confirmed, Visions of Mana is expected to arrive on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X S, and PC in the summer of 2024, marking the first time the series has arrived on the Xbox platform.
The trailer showcases Visions of Mana's new 3D art style, as well as multiple environments and quick combat sequences. The game's main character, Val, will face large-scale boss battles, both solo and teamwork. The currently known plot revolves around Val's friend being chosen as ALM, who is given the mission of going to the Mana tree to restore Mana's flow. Val volunteers to be their Soul Keeper and is responsible for keeping ALM safe during his journey.
The developers take us behind the scenes of the studio and provide an in-depth look at the gameplay in the direct demo. Visions of Mana takes the action a step further, as players run through the environment, seamlessly using normal attacks, throwing skills, and magic against enemies.
To help players better explore the vast map, the game introduces a mount system called pikuls. Combining Yorkshire, pangolins, and even Anubis features from Egyptian mythology, these giant creatures allow players to ride and even ram enemies. While Visions of Mana isn't fully open-world, there are smaller loading areas between large areas.
The key feature of the combat system is elementals, which are items with unique attributes. By using the right Elementals against different enemies, players can exploit weaknesses to unleash gorgeous ultimate attacks.
