iPad mini 6 512G Expansion Review: Performance Improvement or Not Value-Saving?
Hello everyone, I'm Brother Chong. Today, I'm bringing you an in-depth review of the iPad mini 6 expansion. We have successfully expanded a 64G version of the iPad Mini 6 to 512G, with the aim of making the iPad Mini 6 more practical and worthwhile the investment. The expanded iPad mini 6 was sent by a Jiangxi fan, and the message mentioned the problem of insufficient iPad memory, and the fuselage was broken in the child, let's see how to solve it.
First, let's take a closer look at the look and configuration of this iPad mini 6. This iPad mini 6 has a gray appearance, and there are obvious signs of fall injuries around the case, and it seems that it does not carry a protective case in normal use. However, the overall look is okay, and there is no obvious deformation. We entered the passcode provided by the fan and confirmed that this is a 64G version of the iPad mini 6th generation of the National Bank, and the fingerprint function is still retained above the power button. Okay, without further ado, let's shut down and start scaling.
After the expansion, whether it is a mobile phone or an iPad, will it increase in value or depreciate? This is a questionable question, and I believe that most of the viewers in the comment section already have their own choices. For the fans of Brother Chong, don't forget to double-click on the screen to send a heart, this is a great satisfaction for me, thank you for your support. Next, let's dive into the scaling process. The principle of capacity expansion is to replace the original hard disk with a large capacity hard disk to achieve the purpose of increasing the capacity. Due to the disassembly involved, once the iPad is expanded, it means that the warranty is lost. However, the cheap ** is really hard to resist! On a certain treasure, the iPad or iPhone can be expanded to 512G, which only costs 500-700 yuan, and the expansion to 1T, that is, 800-1000 yuan, which is not only cheap but also has sufficient capacity. Without further ado, let's first soften the glue around the screen, use a screen splitter to pull the notch, and then slide around the screen to open the screen. It should be noted that the cable is on the left side, and the cable cannot be torn off. Looking at the back of the screen, almost all iPad screens have fingerprint tones.
We first secured the previous camera, focusing on the two cables on the screen, which were connected together, and then removing the iron sheet. Among them, the first one is the display cable, the second is the touch cable, and the third is the battery interface cable. The design of these three cables is relatively unuser-friendly, because the battery cable should be disconnected first, but it is pressed in the last one. There is a display cable and a touch cable at the top of the screen, and then look at the case. The big black block is the battery, there are two stereo speakers above and below, the front camera is above, the Type-C charging port is below, and next to it is the motherboard, all the chips are above the motherboard, we protect the battery first. There is a tin shield above the motherboard with an antenna on it. We are going to disconnect the charging port of the antenna and the Apple Pencil, remove the screws. There is black glue on both sides of the antenna, and the iron sheet is removed after disconnection, also known as the shielding cover, to ensure that it is not deformed as much as possible. The shape of the shield has a big impact on the later installation, and we want to keep it perfect. Looking at the motherboard, the A15 CPU comes into view, which is the brain of the motherboard, next to it is the power supply, and the white one is the hard disk. The memory size we buy is different, the only difference is the hard drive, the rest is the same. Due to the large area of the iPad motherboard and the heat dissipation is very fast, we put a piece of iron under the motherboard and protect the surrounding area of the ** disk. First warm up the hard disk and deal with the corners around the ** disk to prevent damage to the capacitor and resistance when removing the hard disk.
Use a weld-in machine around the hard disk to heat it and remove the original 64G hard drive. It is necessary to pay attention to the mouth of the air gun to avoid the tin dots on the CPU pad and be flat. At this time, we will suck up all the tin of the pad, and use the suction bag to flatten the tin dots, and there is less black glue at the bottom of the mini 6. After cleaning up, dispose of the pads and replace a 512G hard disk directly. Since the CPU of the mini 6 is the same as that of the iPhone 13, it cannot be directly expanded to 1T like the iPhone 13 Pro series, so we can only choose a 512G hard drive. Melt the pads, observe each fine point, and smooth it perfectly. Then inject flux into the pad and install the new 512G hard drive. Touch the hard disk, there is a QQ pop sound to indicate that the installation is complete, clean up, tear off the protective sticker next to it, then scrub the motherboard, and punch the black glue around the hard disk to cure. At this time, after the processing is completed, take out the shield cover that was removed earlier, clean the glue on the top, and paste the new double-sided tape. Then install the shield, install the Apple Pencil power supply, install the antenna on both sides, and punch it into vinyl to cure. After the motherboard is processed, play back the screws that were removed earlier and remove the protective sticker above the battery.
Finally, dispose of any adhesive residue around the bezel that needs to be cleaned to ensure that the screen is flawless after installation. After the large glue is processed, the details are dealt with. At this time, take out the screen and put it on the heating table, heat the screen and clean up the residual glue around it. Next, we use the original iPad glue, paste it on the top of the screen, and paste it around in turn. Then clean the back of the iPad, then install the screen, first buckle the touch, then buckle the display, and finally buckle the battery, clean it up, put the iron sheet back, and put five screws to fix the iron sheet. After the cleaning is completed, tear off the protective sticker of glue around the screen, then tear off the protective sticker of the camera, close the screen, clean it and put it on the pressure plate for about 20 minutes. After finishing saving, plug in the charger, because the iPad can't be turned on after expansion, click to enter recovery mode and flash into the latest system.
So, is the iPad appreciating or depreciating after expansion? Depending on how you approach it, everyone's perception of value is different. In the end, not all second-hand equipment is saved because the original 64G is not enough, and there is no need to buy new equipment after expansion. After the system installation is complete, the iPad will reboot and enter the activation interface. First of all, we used the one-click activation of the Aisi assistant, and found that there was an ID, and we tried to activate it step by step to see if it could be activated with a lock screen password. Observe the activation interface, below is the activation help, there is no lock screen password activation, you can only ask fans for ID account password. Well, the activation is successful. The last step comes to the desktop, click on the setting general, about this machine, successfully expand the 64G iPad mini 6 to 512G, and later use it can be upgraded and restored by flashing the machine at will. All other functional tests were normal.
