The rated power (or rated load) is the maximum load (expressed in volt-ampere VA) that can be safely driven on the secondary side of the transformer. The selection should ensure that the actual load (including connected measuring instruments, relays, line losses, etc.) does not exceed the rated power of the transformer.

Transformer designs are usually designed for specific operating frequencies. Ensure that the rated frequency of the selected transformer matches the actual frequency of the power system to guarantee accuracy and reliability.

Consider the voltage level of the system and select the appropriate insulation level to ensure safe operation at the system voltage.

According to the installation environment and space constraints, select the appropriate installation type (such as through-core type, splint type, bus type, etc.).

Consider the influence of the working environment (such as temperature, humidity, presence or absence of corrosive gases, etc.) on the performance of the transformer, and select the transformer suitable for harsh environments if necessary.
