Let parents be school education partners

Set up a "Little Lotus" mailbox to leave a space for left-behind children and children with psychological counseling needs to talk; Listen to the class, observe the child's performance, establish a counseling file, and formulate a counseling plan; Keep in touch with parents to keep up to date with their child's ......For social worker Nie Jinping, since she was hired as a full-time teacher for family education guidance at Xinyu Yushui No. 5 Primary School in Jiangxi Province in September 2022, her daily life has been busy and fulfilling.

In recent years, Yushui District has actively explored the establishment of a school-family-community collaborative education mechanism to run a warm education.

Promote school-family-community cooperation to solve "family affairs" in the whole region

Hu Xiaofang, the principal of Yushui No. 5 Primary School, did not expect that on the first day of her new position, she was greeted by a complaint from the "mayor**", complaining that the head teacher of a certain class of the school arranged his children in the back row when arranging seats. After Hu Xiaofang learned about the situation, she found that there was no problem with the seating arrangement of the class, but the communication with parents was not in place. Hu Xiaofang then took the class teacher to the complainant's home to explain and communicate, and through sincere communication, the parent realized that he had wrongly blamed the teacher.

Once upon a time, it was not uncommon for home-school conflicts to arise in Yushui District because of trivial matters.

In my first year as director of the District Education and Sports Bureau, there were more than 1,000 complaints against schools in the district. Lu Donggen, director of the Yushui District Education and Sports Bureau, said frankly that at that time, he also intensively went to various schools to carry out research, and got a lot of complaints about "the quality of students is not high" and "parents do not understand".

Education is not only a matter of school, but family education is irreplaceable by school education. It is necessary to bring into play the joint role of 'family and school' in implementing the party's education policy, and elevate family education from a traditional 'family affair' to a 'state affair'. Lu Donggen wants to promote school-home-society cooperation through the whole region, and strive to solve the problems of some parents' weak awareness of family education and poor communication between home and school.

In 2021, Yushui District selected 3 urban schools and 3 rural schools in the district to carry out pilot school-home-community cooperation. After a semester of piloting, the "1+1+N" alliance teaching and research model will be fully rolled out in schools in the district in the spring of 2022: by 1 urban demonstration school + 1 rural leading school + several urban and rural schools, the whole district will form 3 home-school cooperation communities, and promote the collaborative improvement of family education guidance in the whole district by leading the weak with the strong.

Education is a slow process, so we plan to spend four years to improve the overall professional level of the district's family education guidance team. Lu Donggen introduced that the District Education and Sports Bureau has set up a district-level family education guidance center headed by the director, and each school has set up a family education guidance center accordingly, and set up a school, grade, and class ** parent committee. At the same time, each school has set up a reception day for secretaries and principals, an open day for parents, and held family education lecture halls and other activities.

In addition, from the spring of 2022, the district will implement the "Millions and Thousands of Projects" training project for the professional ability of family education guidance teams, that is, to train 100 family education instructors, 1,000 family education lecturers, and 10,000 outstanding parents.

Widely carry out parents to enter the campus to strengthen home-school interaction

Chen Zhongying, the principal of Yushui No. 7 Primary School, can be regarded as the first principal in the district to eat crabs in family education.

In 2009, when I first became a principal, more than 95% of my students were children of migrant workers, and I still felt overwhelmed after two or three years of work: teachers were already working hard, but parents were constantly judging outside the school gate, and teachers were burned out of their profession. "After thinking about it again and again, in the fall of 2012, the school launched the classroom teaching reform, and at the same time as the reform, parents entered the campus and the classroom.

Parents came to the school to understand how to carry out classroom teaching, but with the passage of time, the routine of "children studying in school for 6 years, parents come to work in school for one day" has been formed in the parent committee: every parent has to come to the school to do a day of volunteer service activities during the 6 years of their child's primary school.

At 7:15 a.m., receive a brief training; From 7:30 to 8:00, go deep into the school to inspect the arrival of students; In the morning, we first understand the students' early reading situation and listen to the class, and parents with special skills will go to the podium to give lectures to students; At noon, go to the cafeteria to cook meals for students and take care of students' lunch breaks; In the afternoon, communicate with the principal, and in case of a school team meeting, the parent volunteer will select a representative to participate in the meeting and express his opinions; Before leaving school, each parent volunteer fills out an anonymous questionnaire.

Only when parents go deep into the school experience and feelings can they understand the difficulty of being a teacher and change from a bystander to a collaborator in education. Chen Zhongying introduced that after several years of practice, teachers have also changed from not daring to let parents listen to classes at the beginning to actively invite parents to listen to classes.

In 2021, Yushui No. 7 Primary School became one of the pilot schools in the district to carry out school-home-community cooperation, not only leading a rural school to develop together with other schools in the area, but also exploring the way for the school-home-community collaborative education work in the district.

Teachers led children to parents' farms, plantations, noodle factories to experience life, and the school carefully held parent-child sports meetings, games, recitations, paper-cutting and other activities, and the campus was always filled with happy laughter.

Jointly build a Runxin Station to solve students' "hearts".

The District Education and Sports Bureau pushed each of our schools to the stage to engage in school-family-community cooperation, but how should our high school engage in activities. One day, three school leaders from Yushui No. 1 Middle School came to the Yushui District Education and Sports Bureau and asked Zhang Meifang, the head of the Education Unit, to help.

In fact, the focus of school-home-society cooperation is not to engage in activities, but to give full play to the advantages of the school, establish effective home-school communication channels, and improve the effectiveness of education. In the end, Zhang Meifang discussed with the school and compiled the story of teacher Peng Shumei cooking tea eggs for college entrance examination students for more than 10 years and the story of students' learning and growth in school into a psychological sitcom, put it on the stage, and invited parents and students to ** together.

Tightly weaving school-family-community cooperation to build a strong protective barrier for students' mental health has been another focus of exploration in Yushui District in recent years. Through the introduction of the education system's "Moisturizing the Heart Action" work implementation plan, improve the mental health counseling room, allocate full-time and part-time mental health teachers, and rely on the "Gansu Psychological Assessment" cloud platform to carry out the mental health screening and tracking services of students above the fifth grade in schools, and formulate individual cases for students with psychological problems, and carry out psychological counseling.

Located at the junction of urban and rural areas, Yushui No. 8 Primary School is one of the schools with the largest number of left-behind children in the district, and many children have psychological problems to varying degrees.

To this end, Jian Fangfang, the principal of Yushui No. 8 Primary School, not only cooperated with the Xinyu Psychological Association to hire a team of 6 psychological counseling professionals outside the school, but also took the lead in the school to set up a team of 8 psychological volunteer teachers, and made concerted efforts inside and outside the school to carry out psychological counseling for students.

Jian Fangfang is very pleased that through the cooperation of the school, family and society, there have been 38 cases of children's special behaviors and psychological states that have undergone substantial changes.
