Beijing, 20 Feb (ZXS) -- The second generation of Taiwanese businessmen have devoted themselves to the mainland's investment industry and realized their dreams in helping enterprises develop.

The biggest gain after coming to the mainland is to help some enterprises develop, not only to get financial returns, but also to see their dreams come true. Recently, talking about the "landing" experience in Beijing, Xu Yujie, general manager of Strait Star Industry Accelerator, said, "While helping enterprises realize their dreams, their dreams will also come true."
Xu Yujie was born in 1981, her ancestral home is Yunnan, and her father is a Taiwanese businessman who came to the mainland in the 90s of the 20th century. Influenced by her family, she heard about the mainland since she was a child, and often traveled back and forth with her father. Because of the entrepreneurial opportunities for cross-border enterprises, she chose to devote herself to the mainland investment industry to help enterprises land and develop in the mainland.
Some Taiwan-funded enterprises want to come to the mainland for development, and they may have strong technology and products, but they do not understand the mainland's policies and market environment. After accumulating some experience in serving cross-border enterprises in Shenzhen, Xu Yujie came to Beijing in 2016 and established the Straits Star Industry Accelerator to provide assistance for the development of high-tech talents and technology projects in Taiwan and overseas in mainland China from the aspects of policy, market and capital.
In Xu Yujie's memory, she was deeply impressed by the first semiconductor project she served. She said that a large enterprise in the mainland had planned to lay out the third generation of semiconductors, but the related technology was still blank, with less talent and experience. Xu Yujie's team was connected from it. After layers of investigation, the Taiwan team successfully obtained the order.
People say that a Taiwan-funded enterprise and a small innovative company can be entrusted with such a large order? Xu Yujie said that this is also where she admires some mainland companies, they come to the tender not to say that whoever is the top research institution must give the bid to whom, but really to evaluate the technology, who can do it. "It turns out that the market is more tolerant now, and as long as you have the strength and really want to do things well, you will have opportunities. ”
Xu Yujie observed that Taiwan has a lot of private capital and angel investment is not very active, while the mainland's capital market has become more and more open in recent years, and the degree of specialization and standardization has been continuously improved. In her view, the mainland now has more policy guidance and support for industries such as agricultural technology, medical technology, biotechnology and semiconductors, and entrepreneurs from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan who want to develop here can find opportunities from this.
She also believes that in the context of the joint construction of the "Belt and Road", there will be many conveniences and guarantees for enterprises and products to enter overseas markets in the future. "Instead of going it alone in Taiwan, or going overseas on your own under the condition of higher risk, it is better to come to the mainland to complement each other and cooperate with the help of various resource advantages. ”
Regarding the recent decline in the attractiveness of the mainland market to Taiwanese businessmen and enterprises, Xu Yujie said that judging from the new foreign-invested enterprises established in the mainland in the first three quarters of 2023, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan are still one of the top foreign investment places. Taking into account factors such as the quality of human resources and the maturity of the industrial chain, the mainland market is still the preferred choice of Taiwanese businessmen and enterprises.
In her spare time, Xu Yujie, who is the president of the Shih Hsin University Beijing Alumni Association, often integrates alumni resources to provide assistance to students who are new to Beijing, or organizes gatherings during holidays to promote mutual exchanges. At a Taiwan youth study event held in Beijing in October last year, Xu Yujie said that every generation has a mission for each generation, and the fathers have caught up with the opportunities of their time, and when it comes to their own generation, they also hope to take over the mission of this generation.
We hope to bring Taiwan's high-quality talent, technology, and other resources to the mainland for mutual integration, and at the same time promote the exchange of high-quality and top-notch talents between the two sides of the strait. Talking about future planning, Xu Yujie hopes to provide more support for enterprises and projects in the early stage of development, expand the scope of investment, and promote the introduction of Taiwanese technology and talents to take the mainland as a starting point to open up overseas markets.
