**Brussels, January 10 (Reporter De Yongjian) The European Union-China Chamber of Commerce in Brussels held its first board of directors and executive committee in 2024 on the 8th, adopted the chamber's 2024 work plan, and listened to the preparations of the chamber's automotive working group.
The meeting held that in 2023, the EU-China Chamber of Commerce will actively create an atmosphere of mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation between China and the EU, host and co-organize about 40 economic and trade dialogues, forums and symposiums, release reports on the development of Chinese enterprises in the EU for five consecutive years, and speak for Chinese enterprises in Europe on issues such as the EU's anti-subsidy investigation on China's electric vehicles and the EU's 5G security toolbox, so as to safeguard the interests of Chinese enterprises. In addition, the Chamber of Commerce strengthened on-site research and enterprise exchanges, met with dozens of member units throughout 2023, deepened ties with member units and Chinese enterprises in Europe, and further increased its attractiveness to enterprises, with 20 new member units added throughout the year. In terms of internal construction, the Chamber of Commerce has strengthened the construction of vice president units and governing units, vigorously developed joint members, established a financial working group in 2023, and is currently actively preparing for the automobile working group. The meeting affirmed the work achievements of the Chamber of Commerce and deepened the future development of the Chamber of Commerce, and the participants put forward opinions and suggestions on the Chamber of Commerce to better serve its members, safeguard the rights and interests of Chinese enterprises in Europe, and further exert the influence of the flagship report. In April 2019, the EU-China Chamber of Commerce was inaugurated, representing nearly 1,000 Chinese-funded enterprises in Europe. Since October 2023, in response to the European Commission's decision to launch a countervailing investigation on pure electric passenger vehicles imported from China, the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in the EU has continued to speak out and held a symposium on Chinese enterprises of electric vehicles, expressing great concern about the EU's protectionist practices and the increasingly politicized business environment in the EU, and calling on the EU to fully protect the right of Chinese enterprises to defend themselves and create a non-discriminatory and predictable market development environment for Chinese enterprises.
