Sun Jian, Ziwentai, a native of Fuchun, Wu County. The Sun family has been an official in Wu for generations, and Sun Jian and Cao Cao were born in the same year, six years older than Liu Bei. When he grew up, he was dignified, open-minded, and excellent in martial arts.
Sun Jian's force was first-class among the Three Kingdoms, and he once defeated Lü Bu in a head-to-head battle. When he was seventeen years old, he took a boat with his father to Qiantang (present-day Hangzhou, Zhejiang), where he was robbed by pirate Hu Yu and others.
Seeing this, the merchant travelers were terrified, and passing ships did not dare to move forward. When Sun Jian saw this, he said to his father, "I can catch these robbers, please let me go." ”
His father advised him not to take any chances, but Sun Jian strode to the shore with his knife in hand, as if he were planning to surround the pirates. When the pirates saw this, they mistakenly thought that some officers and soldiers had come to arrest them, panicked, threw away their goods, and fled in all directions.
Sun Jian returned after chasing and killing a pirate, and his reputation was greatly enhanced, and he was called by the county government as the first captain. Soon, Xuchang, a native of Jijun, raised troops in Juzhang and gathered tens of thousands of accomplices. Sun Jian used his prestige for many years to recruit more than 1,000 elite soldiers from Huaisi, and joined forces with the officers and soldiers of the prefecture and county to defeat and successfully defeated the rebels.
Sun Jian established his own military power and commanded a group of loyal generals. Among them are members of the Sun clan, and there are also generals with foreign surnames who follow Sun Jian, and like Cao Cao, they have their own family backbone.
Sun Jian started from the grassroots level and gradually rose to the position of director of the public security bureau and deputy county magistrate, which was different from Cao Cao's start. Later, he served as the Sima of the Zuo Army, fought fiercely, and was appointed by the imperial court as the Sima of other departments.
After quelling the rebellion of the Yellow Turban Army, Sun Jian accompanied Zhang Wen to Liangzhou and suggested killing Dong Zhuo, but it was not adopted. Soon, he was appointed as the Taishou of Changsha and went to quell the rebellion of the Changsha Thief District.
Sun Jian's experience is similar to that of Liu Bei and Lu Bu, both of whom were promoted from the grassroots through military exploits.
After Sun Jian and Wang Rui, the assassin of Jingzhou, jointly eliminated the thieves, Wang Rui despised Sun Jian because he was a military attaché, and the relationship between the two was tense. Later, Sun Jian killed Wang Rui in an operation, which laid the groundwork for his future actions.
At the same time, Dong Zhuo's ** in the capital sparked a revolt in various places, and Sun Jian participated in it and made a startling decision in a short period of time, he killed two court officials, one of whom was his old acquaintance Wang Rui.
Wang Rui wanted to take this opportunity to take Jingzhou alone, but was killed by Sun Jian.
Cao Cao's wisdom and scheming, pretending to be a text and ordering Sun Jian to kill Wang Rui. In order to avenge his personal revenge, Sun Jian seized the opportunity to get rid of Wang Rui and take Jingzhou. Wang Rui was defenseless and was forced to death by Sun Jian. This incident revealed that the world was in turmoil at that time, and no one cared about the law and discipline of the imperial court. Sun Jian's move showed his ruthless determination.
If Sun Jian had heeded the advice earlier, would he have been able to change the situation in the late Han Dynasty?
Liu Biao, Sun Jian, and Yuan Shu began a struggle for power. Liu Biao recommended the position of Nanyang Taishou to Yuan Shu, so as to win over Yuan Shu and disperse Sun Jian's forces. Yuan Shu was faced with a choice, whether he should help Liu Biao or unite with Sun Jian.
Yuan Shu chose to ally with Sun Jian, taking a fancy to Sun Jian's strong force. Sun Jian had no help in Nanyang, and Yuan Shu's proposal was very timely for Sun Jian. Sun Jian and Yuan Shu reached an agreement, and Yuan Shu appointed Sun Jian as the assassin of Yuzhou, hoping that he could help him capture the Yuan family's lair.
After Dong Zhuo burned Luoyang, he invaded Yingchuan County. In Liang County, his subordinate Xu Rong and Sun Jian fought, as a result of which Sun Jian was defeated and Li Min, the Taishou of Yingchuan, was killed. Sun Jian hurriedly took off his helmet and asked his subordinate Zu Mao to put it on, attracting the enemy to pursue.
Subsequently, Dong Zhuo transferred Xu Rong back to the central line to deal with the Kwantung Coalition Army, and sent Hu Zhen and Lu Bu to clean up the mess. However, the decision on who to go on this expedition caused problems. Hu Zhen and Lu Bu are from Wuwei in Liangzhou and Jiuyuan in Bingzhou respectively, and belong to two groups.
Dong Zhuo's descendants are the Liangzhou Army, and the Bingzhou Army was lured to join in order to fight against Dong Zhuo, so the treatment of the Bingzhou Army is lower than that of the Liangzhou Army. Hu Zhen was appointed as the leading general, while Lü Bu only served as the cavalry governor.
Hu Zhen said before he set out on the expedition that he would kill a high-ranking cadre to establish his authority, but this cadre would not be his Liangzhou brother, but only Lu Bu. It is very unwise to undermine the morale of the army before the expedition.
Sun Jian took advantage of the contradiction between Hu Zhen and Lü Bu to launch an attack at night, and Hu Zhen was completely defeated, and his subordinate Governor Hua Xiong was also beheaded by Sun Jian.
Sun Jian marched into Dagu and refused Luoyang for ninety miles. Dong Zhuo personally faced the battle, but was severely injured by Sun Jian again. He left Lü Bu to defend the city, and turned to Shaancheng and Mianchi himself. Sun Jian waved his troops to attack Luoyang and engaged Lü Bu.
Lü Bu retreated after a slight resistance, and Sun Jian attacked the empty city from Xuanyang Gate. He was heartbroken and said that he must eradicate Dong Zhuo and revive the Han family. Then, he left Hangu Pass and prepared to continue westward.
However, the contradictions within the Yuan family changed history again, and because Yuan Shu opposed Yuan Shao's proposal, the two brothers broke up completely. Yuan Shao sent Zhou Yu as the assassin of Yuzhou to attack Sun Jian's base.
Sun Jian sighed: "We once raised troops together to protect our family and defend the country. Now, however, there is a struggle within, with whom should I fight alongside to save the situation? ”
He looked up to the sky and sighed, tears rained down, and finally regretfully withdrew from the army. Although Sun Jian had been questioned, his army was the only one of the Kwantung heroes who fought against Dong Zhuo and won a big victory.
However, now Sun Jian's strength made it possible for him to control the entire territory of Yuzhou, which was unacceptable to Yuan Shu. Previously, Yuan Shu had tried to stop Sun Jian from fighting Luoyang, and now Sun Jian had defeated Zhou Qiao again, which made Yuan Shu feel his strong strength.
So, Yuan Shu decided to transfer Sun Jian away. He began to think about who he wanted Sun Jian to attack. There is a suitable target to the south: Liu Biao. Liu Biao and Yuan Shu often had friction in the southern part of Nanyang County.
Sun Jian teamed up with Yuan Shu and went south to conquer Jingzhou, intending to regain the lost territory. Liu Biao faced the battle in Fancheng and Dengxian, won the first battle against Sun Jian, and then surrounded Xiangyang, Liu Biao closed his door.
Sun Jian attacked at night, and Huang Zu was defeated and fled to Da Xian Mountain. The two have their own ghosts, but they have the same interests, so they can cooperate.
Sun Jian, who was extremely brave at the end of the Han Dynasty, was overconfident, and when he crossed the Xian Mountain single-handedly, he was shot and killed by Huang Zujun, and the tide of the battle was reversed. Sun Jian's old troops promoted Sun Ben as the leader, but he had no intention of fighting again, and sent Sun Jian's coffin back to Nanyang County.
Yuan Shu ostensibly appointed Sun Ben as the assassin of Yuzhou, but in fact he disrupted his team and was reappointed as the governor of Danyang County and sent to Jiangnan. The foundation of the Sun family disappeared, and the little overlord was born, laying one-third of the territory of Wu.
