In the seventies of the twentieth century, Zhang Li was born in a well-off family in Shanghai.

The family is well-off, her father is in business, and Zhang Li, who is an only daughter, has been living since she was a childThe life of a young lady

She has lived a princess-like life since she was a child, and her education is naturally not bad, and she successfully became a flight attendant after graduation.

With a stable job and tens of millions of family assets, she resolutely chose to cut her hair and become a nun after an accident。What's the story behind this? Did she ever regret a decision she made on impulse?

——Carefree Girlhood ·]

It turned out that under the influence of her mother, Zhang Li often burned incense and worshiped Buddha with her mother since she was a child.

This gradually led to Zhang Li's interest in Buddhism.

Her mother saw that her daughter was interested in temple life and burning incense and worshipping Buddha, so she often took her to burn incense and pray and visit the temple.

Although Zhang Li is in a wealthy family, she is not arrogant and indulgent, but generous, sweet-looking, and successfully became a flight attendant after graduating from the aviation college.

Due to work, her mother was a little worried about her by often running around, so she burned incense at home and prayed for her daughter's smooth and safe work. The job is stable, the parents are healthy, everything is happy, but the only thing missing is love.

Good looks, excellent temperament and stable work make many rich people and their children fall in love with them.

When studying in Japan, there are countless people, and some people even ask their parents directly to come to their homes to ask for relatives.

Although there are many suitors, Zhang Li has unique requirements for her other half.

Perhaps in Zhang Li's eyes, money is not one of the criteria for measuring love

Zhang Li thinks that the husband she is looking for is not necessarily rich, but kindness and responsibility are the main things, and the second is to be self-motivated.

——The roots of the Buddha are deeply planted, and the heart of the monk rises.—

In a chance encounter, Zhang Li met her current husband Shen Zhou.

Among the many suitors, Zhang Li chose the mediocre Shen Zhou, which was unthinkable to all of Zhang Li's girlfriends.

After dating for a period of time, the relationship between the two slowly warmed up, and with the recognition and respect for each other, the two became husband and wife.

The ambitious Shen Zhou did not fall for himself because he fell into a rich woman, but worked harder.

But it turns out that Zhang Li's vision is very good, and it didn't take long for Shen Zhou to have his own small company by relying on his own efforts.

Although Shen Zhou is not the most handsome and not the richest among the suitors, he is kind, honest, and very attentive to Zhang Li's love.

The two bought a house and a car in Shanghai at a young age, and had their own company, which is really enviable.

After getting married, Shen Zhou doted on Zhang Li, and even more so that Zhang Li could worship the Buddha and set aside a room at home as a Buddhist hall.

After that, Zhang Li would recite the phrase "Amitabha" every day to show her sincerity.

So Zhang Li became a member of the home worship Buddha.

But just as life is getting better day by day, the unexpected suddenly comes.

One day in 2003, Zhang Li accompanied her husband to drive to Ningbo, but the road was slippery on a rainy day, and for safety reasons, Zhang Li and his wife decided to go to the temple to worship first.

However, the unexpected came first.

In the wee hours of the morning, the car crashed into the railing of the highway and sped in an uncontrollable direction.

At this moment, many pictures flashed in Zhang Li's mind, as if all the previous unhappiness and unhappiness were not important, she thought: This may be the last moment of my life, will I go to ** after I die?

After a collision, the car finally stopped, but surprisingly, Zhang Li and his wife were unharmed.

When the police arrived, they were shocked because the car had been hit and scrapped, and according to the previous situation, the car would have been destroyed and killed, but they were only frightened.

Maybe this is auspicious, or maybe Zhang Li's previous prayer in front of the Buddha played a role?

But the occurrence of this incident seems to confirm the devotion to the Buddha, which will make the Buddha pay more attention to this statement.

After the car accident, Zhang Li felt that this was the Bodhisattva blessing them, so she burned incense and worshiped the Buddha even more devoutly.

She believed that the Buddha preferred to help those who were kind and helpful.

At this time, the Bodhi seed planted in her heart when she was a child began to sprout and grow quietly, making her yearning for Buddha even worse.

And it was this next experience that made Bodhi blossom.

In 2004, Zhang Li came to Wutai Mountain to worship Manjushri Bodhisattva, but the scenery of Wutai Mountain made Zhang Li burst into tears.

Countless believers at the foot of the mountain bow down to the Buddha with devotion and devotion to the Buddha, and many of them are suffering from illness, full of awe and piety, praying for safety and health.

Zhang Li realized at this moment that all living beings are suffering, and we must love everyone.

——Seek Buddha with devotion, and eventually become a Ming Dao Master]—

Since then, Zhang Li has been more determined in her thoughts, and she is more charitable than before to help others.

Among her friends, she also admonished many who had gone astray for the sake of glory and wealth, so that they would lose their way and start from scratch.

On Chinese New Year's Eve this year, Zhang Li invited all the foreign workers and vendors she knew to come to her home for a Chinese New Year's Eve dinner.

Friends advised her to be vigilant, but Zhang Li believed that human beings were originally good and did not have to be so.

But these, Zhang Li felt that it was still not enough.

Recalling her carefree life but doing nothing all day and wasting her time, Zhang Li was even more ashamed.

So Zhang Li made a decision that everyone didn't understand, "becoming a nun".

But how can it be as easy as you think?

One of the hardest things is to convince my husband and family to understand.

In order to alienate her husband, Zhang Li did not hesitate to sleep in a separate room with her husband to make it look like there was someone outside, which made him die.

But all this made Shen Zhou, who had no idea, painful.

After Zhang Li found out, she blamed herself very much and decided to confess everything to her husband.

After Shen Zhou knew the truth, although he was very reluctant, he also fulfilled his wife and divorced her, and left her a sum of money to let her live the life she wanted.

After divorcing Shen Zhou, he faced his parents and asked them to understand and support his choice.

When the parents heard the news, they were shocked, even the mother who loved Buddhism did not understand, no matter how Zhang Li persuaded her, the parents did not agree.

However, Zhang Li has made up her mind, and it is difficult for anyone to change, so her parents have to accept it.

Since then, Zhang Li has become a nun and escaped into Buddhism, and her Dharma name is Mingdao

I thought that the superior life in the past would make it difficult for Zhang Li to accept the life in the temple, but the fact is that Zhang Li has a very high level of understanding, and soon passed the full ordination and officially became a "bhikshuni", only serving as the abbot of Zhulin Temple in Jiangsu.

——Charity, love all living beings.]—

But Zhang Li did not stop from here, she felt that there was still a lot more she could do.

So, she relinquished her abbot position.

Wanting to help more people get out of the sea of suffering, she opened up the road of charity.

In order to be able to benefit sentient beings and help more people, Venerable Mingdao founded the "Mingdao Benevolence, Love and Merit Sea" platform for good deeds.

Over the years, Venerable Ming Dao has often helped poor students to complete their studies, and often rescued small animals.

Once, he saw a cat that had been crushed to death on the road, and he took it back to wrap it up and bury it.

Sometimes, when he saw beggars on the road, he would donate money for them and teach them to read the phrase "Amitabha".

Someone advised Master Mingdao that these beggars were all liars, but she only said that they would come to their senses.

Zhulin Temple in Xuzhou was the first bhikshuni ashram in China.

The Zhulin Temple in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province was restored and rebuilt, but the abbot seat was empty, so Master Mingdao was invited to take up this position.

So why did he resign as abbot because of philanthropy before, and why did he go again now?

Venerable Ming Dao said: Doing good deeds is the most basic thing for a Buddhist to do, and Buddhist monasteries have a full range of guidance functions, and as a monk, we should work hard for them.

Zhulin Monastery is the first monastery in China for female monks to practice, and China's first nun, Master Jingjian once became a monk here.

So what exactly does a bhikshuni refer to?

In fact, bhikshuni is a transliteration of Sanskrit, a Buddhist term, also known as bihuni, bhikshuni, nun, dongnu, and sammoni.

A bhikshuni is primarily a monastic woman who has attained the age of 20 and has received full ordination. In layman's terms, it is the nuns that everyone often mentiones.

However, there is one word that is easily confused with bhikshunis, and that is bhikshu, which is only one word short of bhikshunis.

So what's the difference between the two?

Actually, the biggest difference between the two is gender, the male practitioner who is a monk is called a bhikshu, and the female practitioner who is a monk is called a bhikshuni.

——Promote Buddhism and help all sentient beings.]—

What's more coincidental is that although more than 1,600 years have passed since the abbot of Zhulin Temple from the original pure inspection master to the first presiding Mingdao master after the reconstruction, their reasons for ordination and appearance are quite similar, which may be the fate in the dark!

As the first bhikshuni monastery of Chinese Buddhism, Zhulin Temple symbolizes the consummation of Chinese Buddhism, so it will rely on the training center and the retreat society to highlight the teachings of Buddhism from diverse cultures and present the Dharma to the people who are destined to do so.

Since Master Mingdao joined Zhulin Temple as the abbot, his philosophy and the direction of the development of the temple are in line with his temperament: atmospheric and independent, wise and refined.

Mr. Li Zhiqiang, President of the Macau Chinese Ethnic Culture Research Association, was impressed when he learned the reason for Venerable Mingdao's ordination, so he presented his beloved magic weapon "Diamond Sutra" to Venerable Mingdao.

This move fulfilled the special karma of the Buddhist Dharma Jewel enshrinement at China's No. 1 Bhikshuni Ashram.

To promote Buddhism, we must do good deeds. The compassion embodied by Master Mingdao is even more than before he became a monk, creating one moving legend after another.

Venerable Ming Dao hoped to relieve the suffering of sentient beings, so he visited many famous doctors in China, and finally obtained a good prescription for the world, and set up a research institute in the Zhulin Monastery to study prescriptions.

The prescriptions studied are all based on traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions, using precious medicinal materials into the medicine, and concocted by ancient methods.

The prescription has been clinically proven to be effective for all diseases.

This move was supported by Xuzhou**, and Zhulin Temple is also known as the "Zhulin Temple Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine".

At the same time, as a dojo for female patients, Chikurinji Temple has also been able to continue the thousand-year-old Buddhist medical culture

——Conclusion·]—

Bodhi has no tree, the mirror is not a platform, there is nothing originally, where is the dust?

Nostalgia for the world without coveting the world, paying attention to the world and caring for the world, not being born, that is, entering the world, not yet fading the popularity of the "god", or contaminated with the spirit of the "people", this is the Guanyin, the pure inspection, the Ming Tao of mercy and love.

This is also the origin of the "Zhulin Temple Medical Donation Charity Network"!

Master Mingdao is a person with great love. Before becoming a monk, worship the Buddha sincerely and be kind and charitable; After becoming a monk, he was compassionate and blessed all sentient beings.
