The demand for greenhouse design is completely driven by the development of Shouguang vegetable industry. Wang Shoubo still remembers that the first order he received for the design and construction of greenhouses was that vegetable farmers from other places recognized the "Shouguang model" after participating in the "Vegetable Expo" and asked him to build greenhouses.
"Vegetable Expo" is the abbreviation of China (Shouguang) International Vegetable Science and Technology Expo, which has been successfully held for 24 sessions. Under this influence, Shouguang, which opened the curtain of the national "vegetable revolution" with "winter warming greenhouses", gradually promoted advanced technology, production standards and facility vegetable solutions to the whole country.
This year, 37-year-old Sang Pingkun has done animation design and garden design, and is now a "greenhouse designer" of Shouguang Huageng Agricultural Science and Technology. "At first, my classmates and friends asked me to help them design and draw for their newly built greenhouses, and then I felt that the demand for greenhouse design has great potential, and learning by doing has become the main business. In 2012, Zhang Dongsheng walked out of Shouguang for the first time to help Anhui vegetable farmers build greenhouses, and directly "copied" the traditional "winter warming greenhouse" of Shouguang with digging soil, building thick walls and arch sheds. Nowadays, through the accumulation of design and construction needs and experience in different places, combined with the relevant standards of greenhouse construction services, the greenhouses they design and build are more advanced and practical, can adapt to different soil areas and natural environments, and the land utilization rate has increased from about 50% in the past to more than 70%.
In order to guide the standardized development of the greenhouse design and construction industry, the National Vegetable Quality Standard Center located in Shouguang and other units took the lead in formulating the national standard of "Agricultural Socialized Service Greenhouse Construction Service Specification", which was released and implemented on September 7, 2023.
There is a demand for 'greenhouse designers' in the market, and many companies have also set up relevant positions, and we are also working hard to enrich the talent team in the greenhouse design and construction industry. Li Fei, chief of the vocational skills appraisal section of the Shouguang Public Employment and Human Resources Service Center, said that in 2011, Shouguang City developed and reported to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security for the record of the "greenhouse construction" of this special vocational ability, and more than 600 people in Shouguang have been licensed.
