At 12:45 on January 29, the railway surface of the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge ushered in a rare half-hour of "quiet" on weekdays, and there was no train passing through the Yangtze River Bridge during this time. The bridge workers who had been waiting outside the railway line protection network walked into the line network in an orderly manner to inspect the railway equipment on the bridge deck.
There are more than 200 trains passing through the bridge every day on weekdays, and the train traffic density is greater after entering the Spring Festival. There is a lot of work to be done to overhaul the bridge, from replacing sleepers and handguards, sanding wiring and turnouts, to repairing damaged sidewalk slabs and repainting decorated signs. There are more than 20 bridge inspection work alone, and every day they have to be meticulous and tireless, repeatedly inspect every piece of equipment and every inch of the bridge, carefully maintain the bridge, and make every effort to ensure the safety and smoothness of the "throat" of the Beijing-Guangzhou line.
Since its opening to traffic in October 1957, the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge has not had a single responsible driving accident, and the maintenance and repair level has been in the forefront of the whole road, and the maintenance operation of the steel girder bridge is a model of the whole road.
