On the same day, at the site of the Guangdong Association of Brazil, which is located in the area where the Chinese gather, Yu Peng, the Consul General of the People's Republic of China in São Paulo, Tian Yuzhen, the deputy consul general, Ye Zhouyong, the president of the Brazilian Chinese Association, Su Xinxiao, the president of the Guangdong Association of Brazil, and other overseas Chinese leaders jointly distributed more than 300 "Spring Festival bags". The Spring Festival is the most traditional festival in China, a time for families to get together, and a time to celebrate the New Year and look forward to the future together. Yu Peng said in an interview at the scene that as the "home of overseas Chinese", the Consulate General visited overseas Chinese during the Spring Festival, helped overseas Chinese, and conveyed a deep concern and blessing of the ancestral (home) country to overseas Chinese.
Entrusted by the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in São Paulo, the Brazilian Chinese Association issued a notice as early as possible to register the applicants. The Guangdong Association of Brazil sent a number of volunteers to purchase high-quality materials and distribute them in separate packages. Ye Zhouyong said that the "Spring Festival packages" distributed this time include rice, edible oil, flour, etc., implying a bumper harvest of grains and sending the good wishes of overseas Chinese and Chinese people to live a prosperous life in the Year of the Dragon.
At the scene of the day, the red and gorgeous Chinese knots were hung on the wall, and classic Cantonese dishes such as roast pork, barbecued pork, and roast duck were put on the table.
Su Xinxiao told reporters that this year is the Year of the Dragon, and the Guangdong Association will also join hands with the eight major associations to hold the Spring Festival Gala, which will bring more New Year's flavor to overseas Chinese.
Yu Peng said that in the past, every festive season, the Consulate General would invite overseas Chinese to make dumplings for New Year's dinner, with the strength of the motherland, cross-border logistics accessibility, and the prosperity of the cause of compatriots in Pakistan, the form of "comfort to overseas Chinese" has changed, and the material and cultural projects of Huiqiao have become more and more abundant, benefiting more overseas Chinese.
