Prince Harry digs deeper into himself in every TV interview

Since Prince Harry gave up his royal duties and moved to California with his wife, Meghan Markle, his relationship with the British family has become very complicated. Over the past few years, he has given numerous television interviews, openly discussing private family matters and criticizing the way the royal family has treated him and Meghan.

These candid interviews are supposedly aimed at setting the record straight and telling "the truth about him." However, according to journalist Daniela Elser in her latest article, Prince Harry has only put himself in a deeper predicament through these high-profile interviews and may not be able to get out of it.

Let's take a look at Elser's thoughts on Prince Harry's latest move, and why she thinks he's made the issue with his family trickier with these high-profile interviews.

When Prince Harry and Meghan resigned in early 2020 and moved to North America, many were shocked. They soon moved from England to Canada, then settled in Montecito and bought a luxurious mansion.

In March 2021, just over a year after Megxit, Prince Harry shook the royal family and the world with a shocking CBS exclusive interview with Oprah Winfrey. In the interview, he publicly criticized his father, Prince Charles, and brother Prince William, accusing the royal family of being racist about the skin color of his son Archie, and claiming that Meghan was denied help when she experienced mental health issues during her time in the royal family. According to Elser, through television, Prince Harry "basically declared war on his family."

Later, Prince Harry compared royal life to "Truman's world" and "living in a zoo" on the "Armchair Expert" podcast. He also spoke at a vax live charity event, saying the suffering continues to ...... due to systemic issues such as "unconscious bias".

Now, Prince Harry is back on TV trying to reconcile with his family. He was interviewed on NBC's Today program to discuss the Unconquerable Games, attended a United Nations event through **, and spoke with U.S. First Lady Jill Biden and French First Lady Brigitte Macron.

Recently, while attending the Canadian Unconquerable Games kick-off, he was also interviewed by journalist Hoda Kotb on the CBS morning news show.

In a recent interview, Prince Harry talked about his recent meeting with the King and publicly revealing the diagnosis and ** of cancer in a family member, which was a shocking revelation about the health issues of private families.

Elser believes this is yet another case of Prince Harry trying to "reconcile with them" through television, as he continues to discuss his loved ones on elaborate TV shows after declaring war on his family on TV shows such as Oprah's interview.

She thinks it's bad enough that Prince Harry went to Oprah for family disputes and private conversations, but it's another thing entirely to continue talking about relatives on TV shows while trying to reconcile.

In her words, it's not so much a smaller miracle to turn water into liquor as it is more difficult to repair these strained family ties through highly crafted ** appearances.

The crux of the matter, Mr. Elser said, is that each new television interview seems to only exacerbate existing tensions, rather than solve them. Once again, Prince Harry is sharing private family details without permission for public consumption, and the narrative of progress or understanding he is trying to shape does not match what is actually said or done. By this time, "the annoying thing about the interviews given by Prince Harry is that they just seem to have left him deep in his tailor-made predicament." ”

While his intention may have been to tell his story, defend Meghan, who he believes has been treated unfairly, or promote an important cause, the result has been to raise more unanswered questions than to solve them. Repairing old wounds by openly discussing them on the program and the morning news program during the ** time slot, rather than through a private discussion, will only rekindle the controversy, not **. At some point, Elser argued, Prince Harry had to stop "trying to promote understanding between him and the royal family through television."

The problem is that as long as he continues to be interviewed by these American friends, more information about private families will leak out, whether intentionally or unintentionally, and reconciliation seems increasingly out of reach, as the situation continues to be watched and interpreted by the public. If true intimacy is the ultimate goal, as Prince Harry has expressed, then television interviews may be the most counterproductive means of achieving this goal, since on the one hand it will be seen as exploitation for career or monetary gain, and on the other hand it will cause defensiveness.

Finally, Elser issued a sobering warning that at this point, any further televised confession or talk about unresolved royal family matters would only deepen Prince Harry's digging into the depths of his own PR traps. With each friendly soft interview, more solidarity was only temporarily repaired and then destroyed again as private issues were openly discussed without permission or diplomatic manoeuvres. The monarchy that Prince Harry claims to protect is further placed in an awkward position.

If real proximity to his relatives is the real goal, Prince Harry may need to stop oversharing for mass consumption and focus his energy on more constructive private conversations, away from the world's prying eyes and craving headlines. Time will tell if these latest attempts at public reconciliation are real bridges or make the wounds even more bloody!
