Authoritative experts, scholars and well-known people from the Copyright Society of China, the China Science Writers Association, the China Editors Society, the China Reading News, the Beijing News Book Review Weekly and other industry institutions were invited to conduct a comprehensive evaluation and selection of the participating books.

At the event site, after the review of the sample book, the statement of the representative of the editorial department and the on-site defense, the judges finally conducted a comprehensive review and scoring, and a total of 20 kinds of "good books of Chinese science and technology" in 2023 were produced on the spot, including 5 kinds of science and technology plates, 10 kinds of science and culture plates, and 5 kinds of children's plates.
