In the Jiangxi Wuyuan section of the Jiangxi Jiujingqu Railway, a tunnel passes through Meishan. Six years ago, there was a bare stone mountain above the Meishan Tunnel, and under the care of eight young inspectors from the Yingtan Public Works Section, this icy stone mountain has now been covered by lush forests.
In the early days of the Meishan No. 1 Tunnel, hundreds of thousands of stones were exposed on the top of the mountain, and the inspection team needed to regularly inspect these stones to prevent them from rolling down the railway tunnel. With the passage of time, many plants and trees grew in the crevices of the stones, and some plants grew vigorously, which affected the observation of dangerous rocks, and the inspection team became the "forest rangers" who pruned the trees.
At first, we didn't pay much attention to these plants, but once we used the function of our mobile phones to recognize things, and we found that the newly grown wild plants on the mountain were actually national key protected wild plants, and since then, we have started to do plant protection work. Shao Piqiang, a member of the inspection team, pointed to the top of the mountain and said.
In order to monitor the health status of the plants, the inspection team will regularly measure the height and diameter of the trees, and register them to achieve the "real-name system" management of key protected plants.
During the Spring Festival, the Jiujingqu Railway and high-speed railway were intensively opened, and the inspection team needed to carry out a dragnet coverage investigation of the unstable rocks in Meishan. The growing vegetation gives the "Stone Mountain" a natural insurance to strengthen the water and soil, but for the places that are not covered by the plants, they still need to fasten their safety belts, tie safety ropes, and use manual tapping to inspect the rocks.
Four hours later, today's rock survey task was completed. On the way back, the inspection team found that a tree was stuck in the steel wire mesh, and the inspection team member Liu Lulu started his "part-time job" again, only to see him skillfully cut the steel cable net around the trunk with flat-nosed pliers, leaving enough room for growth.
While caring for these plants is outside of our job, in the long run, it's a good thing for the environment and the safety of the route. For this youth inspection team, the green that is gradually blurring on Meishan is a responsibility and an expectation.
