On March 30, 1987, Tongnan District, Chongqing, Chongqing "331" ** Cultural Relics Exhibition Hall was completed and cut the ribbon. The invited brothers Yang Shangkun and Yang Shangzheng returned to their hometown, and along every exhibit in the exhibition hall, their expressions were serious and their hearts were sad and angry.

When they came to the burial of their brother Yang Yangong, they stood silently for a long time with solemn expressions.

Yang Yangong's family is a model of a revolutionary family, and more than 10 members of the family have joined the revolution and are praised as "contemporary Yang family generals". They already had six members when the Communist Party was underground, which was very rare at the time.

The three brothers Yang Yangong, Yang Shangkun, and Yang Shangzheng are the most famous. As one of the main leaders of the Sichuan Revolutionary Movement, Yang Yangong cooperated with ** and others, and made great contributions to promoting the cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party, responding to the Northern Expedition, and promoting the national revolution.

The heroic deeds of their family are a precious treasure of revolutionary history and a model for future generations to learn from.

In the twenties of the last century, in order to oppose the rule of Chiang Kai-shek, Yang Yangong resolutely organized mass rallies in Chongqing. Despite the coercion and temptation of the Sichuan warlords, he always adhered to his beliefs, and finally refused Chiang Kai-shek's persuasion to surrender and died heroically on a cliff.

Yang Yangong's heroic sacrifice shows his spirit of treating death as home, which is deeply admired. This bad news is undoubtedly a heavy blow to Yang Shangkun, who is studying at Sun Yat-sen University in Moscow.

However, he did not give up because of this, but vowed to carry on his brother's legacy and realize his ideal of saving the country and the people. Their younger brother Yang Shangzheng (also known as Yang Baibing) was deeply influenced by his two elder brothers and the family atmosphere, and had the idea of joining the revolution since he was a child.

During his studies in Chengdu Nanxun, he actively participated in the appeal to the people to join the anti-imperialist and anti-** struggle, showing his revolutionary enthusiasm and firm belief.

In 1938, the young Yang Shangzheng went to Yan'an alone with revolutionary ideals. There, he not only joined the Communist Party of China, but also took the initiative to join the front line of the Anti-Japanese War after graduating from the Anti-Japanese Military and Political University.

During the arduous fighting years, he participated in many battles such as the Battle of the Hundred Regiments and the anti-"sweeping" operation in Taihang District, showing his incomparably firm revolutionary belief and selfless and fearless fighting spirit.

Once, in order to protect the people in the base area, he returned to the village regardless of the danger and brought out the sheep that a rural lady was reluctant to reluctant. After eight years of baptism in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Yang Shangzheng proved with practical actions that he was a Communist Party member who withstood the harsh struggle and truly grew into a proletarian fighter.

Yang Shangzheng: From the Southwest Military Region to the Chengdu Military Region, he served as director of the Logistics Political Organization Department, deputy director of the Political Youth Department, and deputy director of the Political Department.

During the 10-year period, he was subjected to unprovoked attacks and imprisoned for eight years, before he was able to return to work. Awarded the rank of general, he made tremendous contributions to the implementation of the strategic decision on the disarmament of the million-dollar army, the streamlining and reorganization of the troops, the rectification of work style, and the improvement of the quality of the contingent of the troops.

All of this was granted by his brother Yang Shangkun.

At the Fifth Plenary Session of the 13th Central Committee held in the following year, Yang Shangkun was promoted to the first vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, and Yang Shangzheng became the secretary general of the Central Military Commission.

After entering the 90s, the People's Liberation Army (PLA) was faced with severe challenges in information reform.

Yang Shangzheng closely followed the pace of reform of the Central Military Commission, worked closely with the General Staff Headquarters and the General Logistics Department, successfully coped with various complex situations in the new era, and made tremendous efforts to promote the modernization and informatization process of the PLA.

In addition, he also attached great importance to the influence in the cultural field, and actively encouraged the "Bayi Film Factory" to create many films on the theme of revolutionary wars, aiming to spread revolutionary ideas and stimulate the patriotic enthusiasm of the younger generation.

On January 15, General Yang Shangzheng died in Beijing at the age of 93 due to ineffective medical treatment. The legendary life of the "modern Yang general" has painted a magnificent picture for the history of the modern Chinese revolution.
