The famous names of the founding generals of New China are well known, and in the impression of the world, they are all experienced in a hundred battles, and they are the first soldiers in every hard battle, but do you know that among these generals, one of them has never been on the battlefield but has been greatly praised by *** and others, and most importantly, after the rest of the generals learned his identity, none of them felt unconvinced.

He is the founding general known as the king of our party - Li Kenong, so how did such a trump card be made, and what kind of feats did he make during the war years?

On September 15, 1899, Li Kenong was born in a family of officials in Jiongyang Town, Chaoxian County, Anhui Province.

Born in such a family, Li Kenong's ambitions in the early years were not high, and under the influence of his parents, he just wanted his son to inherit his father's business and spend this life in peace. However, it is gold that always shines, and even if he wants to hide it deeply, Bole will eventually find this thousand-mile horse.

Li Kenong grew up in Wuhu as a teenager, and the revolutionary atmosphere here was so strong that he was exposed to advanced revolutionary ideas when he first entered school. Feeling the sincerity of his heart, Li Kenong was deeply edified, and the original idea of being rich and safe changed, and it was from this moment that a thought slowly rose in his heart, that is, to join the revolution and change this decaying country.

In 1919, Li Kenong, who was studying in a public school, participated in the May Fourth Movement in full swing, and because of his early contact with the revolution and his many feelings, he not only became a student leader in the movement, but also came to Anqing and was invited by a famous local newspaper to become an associate editor.

At that time, Li Kenong had not yet met our party, and what he believed in was still Mr. Sun Yat-sen and the "Three People's Doctrine" he founded.

First of all, he was arrested and imprisoned by the Anhui warlords for opposing the excesses of taxes and miscellaneous taxes for the people, and then he was dedicated to teaching and educating people, and he saw the numerous crimes of the reactionaries in the May Revolution.

Ah Ying's real name is Qian Xingcun, and he has a close relationship with Li Kenong, but there is one thing he has never told Li Kenong, that is, he joined the Communist Party of China early. This was normal in the social background at that time, but Li Kenong was not a mediocre person, he had already guessed the identity of the other party through the strange behavior of his friends, so when the other party came to the door, he immediately opened his mouth to express his thoughts on the Communist Party and communism.

In this way, under the introduction of Qian Xingcun, Li Kenong joined the Communist Party of China and officially started his own communist revolutionary road, but unlike the imaginary rain of bullets, in the following years, he will face far more dangers than the battlefield.

After the defeat of the Great Revolution, Li Kenong came to Shanghai to work with A-Ying, at first because of his deep writing skills, he was arranged to the Propaganda Department, became a member of the Central Shanghai District Propaganda Committee, during this period, he got acquainted with many members of our party, and Qian Zhuangfei was one of them.

Qian Zhuangfei is a close confidant of Xu Enzeng, the secretary of the director of the Shanghai Radio Administration, that is, the head of the spy in charge of intelligence. Through Qian Zhuangfei, Li Kenong learned a lot of stories in the dark, and he was also full of curiosity about becoming a **, coupled with a good impression of Qian Zhuangfei himself, so he immediately applied to the party organization in Shanghai.

Li Kenong telegraphed to the organization

At present, the enemy's Shanghai Radio Administration is recruiting spies, and the direction of recruitment is the press and publication, and I intend to penetrate into the enemy's interior and set up a special group with Qian Zhuangfei, hoping that the higher authorities can approve it. ”

Li Kenong's idea coincided with ***, ** and General Chen Geng actually had this intention for a long time, but they had not been able to find a suitable candidate, so when Li Kenong took the initiative to apply, they naturally readily agreed.

After getting the permission of the organization, Li Kenong immediately launched his own plan, he relied on his previous writing experience, not only successfully admitted to the Authority, but also won the trust of Xu Enzeng, the head of the Authority, because of his extremely high ability, and became a key member of the enemy's intelligence organization - the head of the Special Service Unit.

This position seemed to have little power, but it could not be inserted by non-cronies, and it controlled the radio intelligence network of the whole country, which played a crucial role in the predicament of our party at that time.

As time passed, Li Kenong obtained more and more information, but at the end of April 1931, a very embarrassed figure broke into Li Kenong's secret stronghold.

Seeing this person Li Kenong was shocked, this person was not the side, it was his friend Qian Zhuangfei's son-in-law, he just wanted to ask the other party what was going on, but he didn't expect the other party to say five words in his ear:

Gu Shunzhang rebelled".

Hearing this, Li Kenong was struck by lightning, no one knows the impact of these five words better than him, Gu Shunzhang, as an alternate member of the Politburo, has too much secret information about our party, and many underground party members who are undercover inside the enemy are even contacted by him in a single line, once he defects, it means that the underground network that our party has worked hard for many years will be destroyed, and no one can afford this price.

Therefore, Li Kenong did not dare to delay, and hurriedly contacted his top boss Chen Geng through emergency means, Chen Geng was also shocked when he heard that Gu Shunzhang had defected, but he did not panic, he first found *** to discuss countermeasures, and then asked Li Kenong to do his best to rescue our party comrades.

After receiving the order, Li Kenong returned to Shanghai non-stop, and he went door-to-door to inform him, and vowed to complete the task at the risk of being discovered by the enemy. However, everything is easier said than done, and the number of members of our party in Shanghai, including the head of the ** organ, is nearly 1,000 and very scattered, and it is very impossible to notify the enemy one by one before he starts to act.

But the matter has come to this point, knowing that he has to do it, Li Kenong ignored the telegrams, letters, and door-to-door messages day and night, and only then did he save dozens of comrades of our party, including Qian Zhuangfei, Hu Di, Zhang Zhenhua, Wang Ming, and Bogu, before the enemy relied on the information given by Gu Shunzhang to arrest them.

Not only that, but it was under his intelligence that all the ** cadres, including *** Chen Geng and **, were able to survive.

It can be said that Li Kenong really relied on his own strength to turn the tide, if there was no letter from his death, it is unknown whether there will be a new China in the future, so from this point of view alone, it is well deserved to call him the king of **.

But obviously, Li Kenong's story does not end here, and there are many more feats he has made next, and each of them can be called super difficult.

During the Anti-Japanese War, Li Kenong came to Chongqing from Guilin through many dangers, and then returned to Yan'an to report on his work under the personal assignment of ***. In Yan'an, Li Kenong was personally appointed as the deputy minister of the Ministry of Intelligence, directly responsible for intelligence work related to ***.

During this period, Li Kenong was engaged in secret missions, and we don't know what great achievements he made, but from ***'s praise for him, it is obvious that he is also meritorious, he has been invited to his home for dinner many times, and every time he mentions intelligence work, ** admires him greatly, once in front of Li Kenong's daughter, his old man laughed and said that his father is our party's number one "big spy", and others have never obtained such honors.

On August 14, 1945, the day before Japan officially announced its surrender, Li Kenong received a top-secret mission again, the cause of which was a letter from Chiang Kai-shek, in which he invited *** to Chongqing to attend a conference to discuss various problems in China after the surrender of the Japanese invaders.

Knowing that at this time, ** was shocked, many people suspected that this was a "Hongmen Banquet" with no return, and even *** thought so, however, what everyone didn't expect was that ** looked relaxed, he directly called Li Kenong, and then said:

Kenong, go find out what kind of medicine is sold in Lao Jiang's gourd! ”

After receiving the task, Li Kenong set off quickly, but he did not go to Chongqing, but aimed at the two staff officers that Chiang Kai-shek had planted in Yan'an. Li Kenong learned through intelligence that the two had always been in one-line contact with Chiang Kai-shek through the radio, so he had the idea of intercepting the telegram.

Since Yan'an is our party's "territory", Li Kenong used his means to be like a fish in water, he first sent intelligence personnel to copy the other party's room key, and then deceived the two out of the room under the pretext of talking, and then copied the other party's code book.

With the codebook, the content of the communication between Chiang Kai-shek and the two, our party is clear at a glance, through their dialogue, Li Kenong learned a key information, that is, Chiang Kai-shek did not intend to set up an ambush, but thought that *** would never dare to go to the appointment, hoping to rely on this letter to let all walks of life see the jokes of the Communist Party.

Li Kenong informed *** of this matter and laughed when he heard it, and then a plan was born in his heart, that is, to play an information gap, and suddenly rushed to Chongqing to sign an agreement with the other party when Chiang Kai-shek was not prepared for peace talks.

At about 3:30 p.m. on August 28, 1945, ** and *** and others came to Chongqing with a full set of peace talks, and saw that *** really came, Chiang Kai-shek was both annoyed and helpless, annoyed that he thought that *** wanted to come from the beginning, and his subordinates were fooled, helplessly, due to the misjudgment of the situation, he did not prepare any peace talk materials, and due to the tight time of the meeting, he could only be led by our party.

In this way, with the concerted efforts of all the people, the "Double Tenth Agreement" was formally reached, which not only gave our party the reputation of being willing to take risks for peace, but also made full preparations for the subsequent war of liberation.

During the war, Li Kenong was the "intelligence chief" and the king of our party, but to the surprise of many people, after the war, he was in charge of diplomatic work.

At the beginning of the founding of the People's Republic of China, Li Kenong was appointed as the executive deputy minister of the People's Republic of China, and his main function was changed from intelligence to diplomatic work. Diplomacy is not easier than intelligence, which was a lot of work for Li Kenong, who had frequent asthma at that time, the task was really large, in order to recuperate, he chose to retreat to the background as much as possible before the Korean War, and he did not know the situation in advance, so when the United States was restricted by the United Nations and asked for negotiations between China and North Korea, he named Li Kenong as the head of the negotiation delegation.

received the order, in fact, if Li Kenong took the initiative to find *** to explain his situation, he might not be able to stay in the country to rest, but he chose to conceal it, or it was not until he crossed the Yalu River with the delegation that he learned about Li Kenong's condition.

** Seemed very worried, he wanted to telegraph the delegation many times to send Li Kenong back to China and replace a diplomat for negotiations, but first, considering that the temporary change would have a bad impact, and second, Li Kenong himself resolutely did not agree to return to China, so he had no choice but to acquiesce in this fact.

On July 10, 1951, the first negotiations officially began, and Li Kenong took Qiao Guanhua and others to Laifengzhuang under the control of North Korea to attend the meeting, and then came to the military demarcation line between the two sides, that is, the famous Panmunjom negotiations.

The process of negotiations can be described as full of twists and turns, first of all, the issue of priority and secondary has triggered a tripartite dispute between China, the United States and the DPRK, the United States believes that since the war is fought on the Korean Peninsula, China and the DPRK should be dominated by the DPRK, supplemented by a delegation of Chinese volunteers; The North Korean side felt that its own diplomatic experience was insufficient, and that the key battles were fought by the North Korean volunteers, so it should be led by Chinese diplomats.

The Chinese side is very distressed, and following the "suggestion" of the US side means that the difficulty of the negotiations will be greatly increased, and there is some suspicion of "overstepping the bounds" of the DPRK side. In the end, after careful consideration, the Chinese side made a decision to retreat, that is, the negotiations were ostensibly dominated by the Korean People's Army, and the Chinese diplomats led by Li Kenong played the role of "coming up with ideas".

Such a decision seems simple, but it is even more difficult to operate in practice, without considering the poor communication between the two sides, Li Kenong's body alone will not be able to withstand it.

On the one hand, he needed to try his best to get the best solution, and on the other hand, he also had to take into account the emergencies that might occur on the front line, Li Kenong was overwhelmed and fainted many times, not to mention, due to the difficulty of the transportation line, the asthma medicine did not arrive in time, and he also encountered many life-threatening situations.

In the face of this situation, ** immediately decided to withdraw Li Kenong, and Wu Xiuquan, vice minister, took over as the head of the delegation, however, what ** did not expect was that Li Kenong chose to "disobey", in front of Wu Xiuquan, who came from afar, he only said five big words, that is:

There will be no change of generals."

Li Kenong's insistence moved the Chinese people, but it made the US side think of a trick that would cause damage, that is, "delaying."

After learning of the physical condition of the Chinese representative, the US side immediately made a decision to continue to delay in the next negotiations on the issue of the exchange of prisoners of war, until Li Kenong was physically overwhelmed and until the Chinese side was leaderless, and finally reached a negotiation result favorable to the US side.

The US side's tactics are simple and effective, and at the negotiating table, after putting forward their own conditions, they have always kept their teeth shut regardless of our objections. Seeing this situation, the Chinese and North Korean representatives were extremely anxious, so they had to go to ask Li Kenong, who guessed that the United States was trying to make a fuss about his body, and suddenly felt bad, but after thinking about it again, he still told his colleagues six big words:

Hold your breath and sit down".

Hearing Li Kenong say this, everyone seemed to have been given a boost to their hearts, and they confronted the US side at the negotiation table without saying a word, and were silent for more than two hours before ending the meeting because it was time for dinner.

At the end of the meeting, the representatives of both sides were drenched, but unlike our side's serious expressions, the other side actually looked extremely relaxed, and one US representative even made wild remarks:

It's just like that, and we're not in a hurry anyway. ”

Is the US side really not in a hurry? The answer is obviously negative, for the issue of prisoners of war, the dilemma encountered by China and the United States is the same, especially the United States, the domestic anti-war voice is getting louder and louder, and the families of the captured people have gone to Congress three times and twice, so their calmness on the surface is fake, but behind the scenes they are actually more anxious than us.

Li Kenong knew this well, so just before the second meeting began, he secretly taught the representative of the DPRK general, General Nam Il, a trick that the Chinese people used to use.

The meeting was held as scheduled, and the representatives of both sides entered the venue, and these Americans were still very calm, but they were stunned by the next sentence of General Nanri, and General Nanri said:

Since you don't speak, let the meeting be adjourned. ”

This move was exactly what Li Kenong taught him, in order to preemptively make the US side confused and make concessions. Sure enough, the reaction of the US side was as Li Kenong had expected, and several deputies were sweating profusely in an instant, waving their hands and saying "no," while holding our representatives, hoping that the two sides would sit down and have a good talk.

The wisdom of the Chinese is truly terrifying, how can the United States, a country founded less than 200 years ago, match it?

It's like going to the store to buy clothes, the seller sits on the ground and pretends to lose money, but the buyer is not fooled at all and turns to leave, but in order to make money, the seller has to step forward to dissuade him. Therefore, seeing that the US side was like this, the Chinese representatives also understood Li Kenong's intentions, and they appeared extremely confident and ignored the US conditions at all, while the US side lost the opportunity and its momentum was sharply reduced, so it had no choice but to agree to our demands one by one and quickly carry out the exchange of prisoners of war.

All this Li Kenong's wisdom can be said to be a great contribution, and in addition, there are actually many more feats of his feats, due to space limitations, we cannot go into detail here, but these few alone are enough to prove his greatness.

After returning to China, Li Kenong is still running around in two posts of intelligence and diplomacy, diplomatically he and *** have attended abroad many times, and have made outstanding contributions to the diplomatic cause of New China.

However, because of this, Li Kenong's body was overwhelmed by the long-term high-load work, and one day in February 1962, the legendary general suffered a cerebral hemorrhage and finally died in Beijing

Since then, the king of the first generation has come to an end.
