At 6 a.m. today (20th), the ** Meteorological Observatory simultaneously issued an orange warning for cold waves, a yellow warning for fog and freezing, and a blue warning for strong winds, severe convective weather and heavy snow.
In the past two days, a large number of people and vehicles have been stranded in Jiuquan, Gansu Province, due to rain and snow, and with the resumption of traffic on the expressway, from the afternoon of the 18th, the stranded people have left one after another. As of 5 p.m. on the 19th, all the stranded people in the centralized resettlement sites in various counties and cities have left.
Since the 18th, there has been rain and snow in Harbin, Jiamusi and other places in Heilongjiang, and many highways in the province have been closed. Multiple departments activated emergency plans to clear snow and ice, and divert traffic. As of 1 p.m. on the 19th, there are still 5 expressways in the province from Jixi to Hulin, and 19 expressways are subject to speed restrictions.
In addition, affected by cold waves, low temperatures, rain, snow and freezing weather, the Hubei Provincial Meteorological Bureau has also launched an emergency response to major meteorological disasters. It is expected that from the 20th to the 24th, Hubei Province will turn from rain to freezing rain, ice particles, and pure snow from north to south, and there will be freezing rain in most areas.
The official opening of primary and secondary schools in Wuhan has been postponed to February 26, except for the third grade of high school. The Wuhan Railway Bureau plans to suspend some trains on the 20th.
