On January 25, the 2024 New Year Reception of the World Internet Conference was held in Beijing. Zhuang Rongwen, Director of the Cyberspace Administration of China and Chairman of the World Internet Conference, attended and delivered a speech, Niu Yibing, Wang Song and Wang Jingtao, Deputy Directors of the Cyberspace Administration of China, and Ren Xianliang, Secretary-General of the World Internet Conference, presided over the meeting.
In his speech, Zhuang Rongwen said that the upcoming Year of the Rabbit is a year of rapid progress and fruitful results in the construction of the World Internet Conference. The Chairman delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the 2023 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit, putting forward the important proposition of advocating the "three initiatives" of giving priority to development, advocating sharing security and welfare, and advocating mutual learning among civilizations, pointing out the way forward for promoting the building of a community with a shared future in cyberspace to a new stage. In 2024, the World Internet Conference will continue to uphold the purpose of building a global Internet platform for consultation, joint construction and sharing, continue to build a first-class platform for international exchanges and cooperation in cyberspace, and work with new and old friends to strengthen communication and exchanges, deepen practical cooperation, jointly promote innovation and development in the global digital field, vigorously safeguard the peace and security of global cyberspace, actively build a spiritual home of cybercivilization, and play a greater role in building a more fair, reasonable, open, inclusive, secure, stable, and vibrant cyberspace. We will work together to build a community with a shared future in cyberspace to a new stage.
The guests at the meeting said that since becoming an international organization, the World Internet Conference has continued to play its role as a platform for international exchanges and cooperation, and has achieved remarkable results. We look forward to using the platform of the conference to continue to strengthen interaction and exchanges, enhance consensus on ideas, deepen practical cooperation, and work together to build a community with a shared future in cyberspace.
About 300 people attended the reception, including envoys from many countries in China, representatives of international organizations, departments, the press and members of the conference.
