The key to unlocking the mystery of the family philosophy

When I read Russell's words, I realized that I had been very wrong for a long time.

Russell said: "He who knows not even the slightest thing in philosophy is imprisoned all his life in prejudices derived from common sense, which originate in the habitual beliefs of his age or country, and in those firm beliefs formed in his mind, but which are formed without the aid or perhaulability of prudent rational thought." For such people, the world is certain, finite, and unmistakable, everyday affairs do not provoke any doubts, and unfamiliar possible choices are rejected with contempt, but philosophy can show the unfamiliar side of those who are familiar and make our curiosity endless. ”

That is to say, I have been trapped in my own circle for a long time, doing the same thing every day, having similar thoughts, and having this similar reaction pattern in the face of the external mirror.

For a long time, my wife complained that I was lazy, and I always thought it was my wife's unreasonable trouble. Suddenly I realized that I had been in the limits of my own thinking, and I had ignored a lot of information about my wife, which could be understood as a state of inadequacy. It is that I have been in a state of self-isolation for a long time, and I ignore the true meaning of what my wife said, she has lived with me for a long time, and is actually the person who knows me best, so her opinion is closer to the truest state.

Also, I think that the family has always been chaotic, and the wife should be mainly responsible. Because she buys more things. And I gave up on tidying up my house. This is also a paradox, at least to a large extent. In a family, I, as the main member of the family, must take my own responsibility.

There is also a problem, that is, I have always regarded myself as thrifty, which is actually a kind of stinginess. Being stingy with oneself and not having the courage to try something new. Wait a minute. It's so much, this is what can refresh my three views.

Everyone should step out of their comfort zone, because everyone has been confined to their familiar environment and familiar people and things for a long time, so they will inevitably form some inherent concepts, and these concepts really have this limitation.

So, the first thing is that we have to go to some different places, to some unfamiliar environments, to meet more different people, to do different things, then this is conducive to our own growth.

Actually, for each of me, it's this life that is imprisoned and entrenched, so to speak, because from the point of view of promoting freedom, because your views are relatively solid, certain beliefs will be particularly strong. When you hear a different point of view or criticism, the first thing that comes to your mind is either to fight back or to run away, and you think that he is definitely not right.

Therefore, we should also listen carefully to different points of view, so that we can break through our original cognitive barriers.

From this point of view, if you have some bad habits, then what you really have to do is not to get rid of those bad habits, but to replace them with some good habits, to find things that you are more willing to do, more meaningful and interesting things than to get rid of this bad habits, then this has to come from trying things. It is not to say that what we really do is not to get rid of the bad habit, but to replace it with another good habit that we love. Because time is limited, we either do meaningful things or do meaningless things. We just need to find meaningful things that we are happy to do, and then do more of them.
