The Korean War broke out in June 1950, and in July 1953, China, the United States and North Korea signed an armistice agreement at Panmunjom.
During this period, in order to gain more bargaining chips in order to grasp the initiative in negotiations, it was not enough for the enemy and us to intrigue at the negotiating table, and the same was true for special situations, especially from the autumn of 1952 to the spring of 1953, China and the United States staged a thrilling spy war!
Fortunately, in the end, it was our volunteer army that was superior in skills, and not only did it gain a lot, but also deceived the United States for 41 years! It wasn't until the nineties of the last century that the US ** Intelligence Agency suddenly realized that it had long since become a laughing stock in the world!
So what's going on here? What really happened in the intelligence war at that time, and what did this victory win for our army?
Deciphering Wande Mountain
Of course, this is a long story, and if we want to sort it out, then we still need to start with a telegram intercepted and deciphered by our army at that time.
One day in the autumn of 1952, the staff of our army's radio system accidentally intercepted a telegram from the US military, and after a complicated process, it was successfully deciphered, and the content of the telegram was also very simple, which basically meant that in the near future, the US military would send a transport plane to secretly infiltrate an area called Wande Mountain in the eastern part of the peninsula to carry out the mission.
Therefore, in order to stop the enemy's conspiracy, the staff immediately reported the matter to their superiors, that is, Comrade Ding Gongliang, who was then the head of the Security Department of the Ninth Corps.
This name may be rarely heard of, but in fact he was one of the top intelligence and counter-espionage experts in China at that time, and his authority can be counted in the world, of course, he did not live up to the trust of the organization, through the scrutiny of the ciphertext, he first determined the authenticity of it, and then immediately took a precise combat deployment without saying anything, and sent a number of scouts to the vicinity of Wande Mountain, where they were ambushed and waiting for the arrival of the prey.
The hard work paid off, and sure enough, Ding Gongliang guessed correctly, this is not a smoke bomb of the US military, but a real big fish! At midnight the next day, a transport plane arrived over Wande Mountain, accompanied by the landing of a hemp rope, and after a while, a man also landed, but the soldiers did not act rashly, but waited for a while, or until the transport plane disappeared completely, they quickly caught up with the man, and captured him back to the headquarters for interrogation.
Looking at the man with an Asian appearance in front of him, the interrogators at first did not take him seriously, only that he was South Korea's **, the backbone of South Koreans in the Korean War is well known, and I believe that it will not take long to take the initiative to confess, but what is surprising is that this person is extremely tough, not only did he not mention a word for two days, but he didn't even eat, and he had the momentum of suicide by hunger strike.
This can be anxious for the interrogators, but they have no choice but to invite Ding Gongliang over to interrogate in person, not to mention, Ding Lao is really worthy of his reputation, in a few words he moved the other party, first coerced, saying that he knows the character of the Americans best, for those who have lost their use value in addition to discarding or extinguishing, even if they go back, it will not be easy, and then it is a temptation, and he came up with a set of frank and lenient, saying that as long as he cooperates well, the volunteers will never treat him badly.
What is the American, this person obviously knows best, so on the third day after **, he finally chose to confess, according to him, his name is Pak Bei, is a North Korean, and now belongs to the intelligence department of South Korea, this time I came to Wandeokshan for two purposes, one is to find the reactionary leader Zhang Maniac hidden in the local "Huidaomen", and the other is to play an advance role, providing hidden conditions for the follow-up landing of South Korea.
In addition, Park also revealed his contact with his superiors, that is, through the carrier pigeon, if the mission is successful, put any green liquid in the letter pipe on the pigeon's leg, and if it fails, he will not put anything.
Hearing this, the interrogators finally breathed a sigh of relief, but Ding Gongliang was not, only to see that he suddenly fell into deep thought, and then left the interrogation room without looking back to contact the superior chief.
What is he going to do? That's right, as everyone guessed, Ding Gongliang just wanted to make a plan, on the one hand, he used Park Beishi to find out more enemy spies, and on the other hand, he used these spies to transmit false information to the US military!

Counter-espionage warfare
In the autumn of 1952, when the radio staff of our People's Volunteers deciphered an enemy intelligence and used it to successfully capture the US spy Pu Bei on Wande Mountain, they thought that the mission had been successfully completed, but unexpectedly, Ding Gongliang, a counterintelligence expert, had a plan, that is, to use the enemy spy to pass on false information to the US military!
No, as soon as Pu Beishi was arrested, the entire East Coast Defense Force began intensive reconnaissance work, and everything that happened afterwards was really not as Ding Lao expected, only two months later, three enemy agents appeared in the area of Eagle's Beak Mountain.
On the night of September 27 alone, the soldiers of the reconnaissance company arrested Sun Xian, Quan, and Pei in the mountains one after another, and most importantly, these three people were far from being as tough as Pu Beishi, and they did not need Ding Lao to go out in person, and several grassroots interrogators successfully pried open their mouths.
Especially this Sun Xian, as soon as he saw the slogan on the wall that confessed leniently and resisted strictly, he immediately showed his excellent Chinese proficiency, and said that he did not want to die, and that he had always longed for Chinese culture and hoped to stay in the mainland to live in the future.
According to Sun Xian's confession, the tasks of their trip were threefold: first, to infiltrate the Yunxia Mountain area, second, to collect information on the deployment of the volunteers in the area, and finally, to wait for an opportunity to plan the landing of the US troops on the east coast of the Korean Peninsula.
Good guy, as soon as these words came out, the cadres at the scene were instantly stunned, the reason is very easy, after all, it is too easy to get such confidential information, how can this not make them doubt their lives?
There is no way, I still have to ask Ding Lao to make a decision, and under Ding Lao's careful thinking, a conclusion is also on paper, that is, the authenticity of the information explained by Sun Xian is extremely high, and the next strategic goal of the US military is very likely to be to launch a landing operation on the east coast!
As for the basis of Ding Lao's judgment, it is also very simple, one is the attitude of Pu Beishi who refused to confess before, if this is really a serial plan of the US military, Park Beishi should use the stereotype of the volunteer army to South Koreans, and confess as quickly as Sun Xian, and the second is the equipment carried by Sun Xian, as we all know, in the fifties of the last century, intelligence equipment such as miniature transmitters was extremely expensive, even if the number of them owned by the US military was not much, if it was just to deceive our army, It is simply impossible to hand over so much high-end equipment to a few South Koreans.

This is a genuine treasure, the radio staff after getting the things is excited, Ding Lao is the same, but what they never expected is that when they asked the US military for supplies for the second time, the other party actually showed signs of impatience, I don't know whether they doubted whether Sun Xian and others were captured, or they were reluctant to spend money, anyway, they didn't reply after a long time.
How can this be done? There was no way, Ding Gongliang had no choice but to wait, waiting for a miracle to happen so that the next plan could be carried out, fortunately, God bless China, after several months of silence, the radio finally came with the news again, agreed to the distribution of supplies, and asked for the information recently obtained.
As for why it has been waiting for so long, the reason is very simple, that is, due to the pressure from domestic military enterprises and Western countries, the United States does not want to end the war so quickly, and the tactic of landing on the east coast, which is very likely to speed up the process of the war, has naturally been suppressed.

Deceived the US military for 41 years of false intelligence
In the Korean War, the reason why the volunteers were able to achieve the final victory was not only due to the bloody battle of the soldiers, but also inseparable from the efforts of intelligence officers, such as the famous "East Coast counter-espionage war".
Continuing from the above, after receiving the information that the US military was asking for intelligence, Ding Gongliang immediately ordered the captured South Korean intelligence officers to send him a carefully prepared piece of false news, which basically contained three things: First, North Korea currently has a total of 19 volunteer armies, plus the Korean People's Army, with a total strength of no less than one million; second, the volunteers had long anticipated the possibility of a landing war by the US military, so they built a large number of anti-landing fortifications as early as the first half of the year. The volunteers even hoarded enough food to last more than half a year on the east coast, just to fight a protracted war with the United **.
To sum up, there is only one central idea of intelligence, that is, to persuade the US military not to carry out landing operations, so does the US military believe this?
Obviously, they didn't believe it at first, so they specially sent a large number of scouts and fighters to the east coast, but what they didn't expect was that our army had already prepared, in order to completely sing this "empty city plan", a large number of improvised fortifications were erected, and many volunteer soldiers were quickly transferred to the local area, and everything was almost exactly the same as the information in the telegram!
Seeing this, the US military finally chose to believe it, and called back the captured South Korean intelligence officers, first praising them, and then warning them not to make any big moves in the near future, so as not to undermine the overall situation of the peace talks.
Obviously, at this moment, Clark has given up the plan to land on the east coast under the confusion of false intelligence, but he has given up, but our army will not give up such a good opportunity, in order to grasp the right to speak at the negotiating table, in June of that year, a mighty summer counterattack began, in view of the hesitation of the US military headquarters, our army also achieved a great victory in this battle, and finally forced the United States to order a truce, and signed an armistice agreement on July 27 of that year.
