From February 26th to February 29th, MWC2024 (Mobile World Congress) will be held in Barcelona, Spain, with Huawei exhibiting and holding a number of themed events from February 25, and Huawei's booth will be located in the 1H50 booth of Hall 1 of Fira Gran Via.

On February 25, Huawei held the 5G Beyond Growth Summit in Barcelona. At the meeting, Li Peng, Senior Vice President and President of ICT Sales & Service, shared how operators can achieve business success in the 5G era, and explained how 5G-A will further unleash the potential of networks and create new growth opportunities.

5G commercial success is happening. In the past five years of commercial use, the number of global 5G users has exceeded 1.5 billion, which is equivalent to the development of 4G in nine years. At the same time, 5G accounts for 20% of global mobile users, contributing 30% of mobile traffic and 40% of mobile business revenue.

2024 is the first year of 5G-A commercialization, and combined with the development of cloud and AI technologies, there is huge potential for operators' commercial growth. Li Peng said.

With the rapid development of AI technology, a series of new services are emerging. New services such as new consumer-facing calls, cloud phones, and glasses-free 3D are becoming increasingly popular. New callers are happy to use value-added features such as "personal avatars"; They are also more willing to pay for real-time experiences such as "one-stop car insurance claims".

In addition, 5G is also being widely adopted by enterprise users. In China, private 5G networks have been commercialized for more than 50,000 use cases in more than 50 industries. New capabilities of 5G-A, such as deterministic latency, precise positioning, and passive IoT, will create more opportunities for operators' B2B markets.

Li Peng mentioned at the meeting that generative AI is driving the mobile industry towards full intelligence. IDC**, AI mobile phone shipments will reach 1 in 2024700 million units, which will account for 15% of global smartphone shipments. The next generation of AI phones will have more powerful storage, display, and imaging capabilities, and work together with AIGC applications to generate hundreds of billions of gigabytes of content, bringing new growth opportunities to operators.

At the HUAWEI CLOUD Summit, which was held in Barcelona with the theme of "Everything as a Service, Accelerating the Intelligent Upgrade of Thousands of Industries", HUAWEI CLOUD showcased 10 systematic innovations for AI, including computing power, storage, databases, and solutions, in an effort to build the most suitable cloud infrastructure for AI.

At present, large models have brought new production methods, interaction methods, business paradigms, and business models to traditional applications, and AI has become a new growth curve for the development of the cloud computing industry. With the accelerated popularization of AI models, the cloud computing industry is also ushering in new opportunities.
