How do you get 11 dancers to represent a school of fish in the façade space? The first thing that came to mind for the main creative team was WIA. But they soon found that WIA's steel wire had no elasticity, and the actors could only move up and down, unable to present the light and graceful posture of the fish, so they developed a new type of WIA that combines spring rope and WIA.
The dancers can not only express the rippling feeling of the fish through the spring rope, but also be carried into the air in an instant with the help of WIA. But for dancers, whether it is a proposition or a performance, it is a creative process from scratch.
The common Wia is two hanging on both sides of the crotch, but ours has one in the back waist, so the whole person is unable to control the direction in the air, it can show the feeling of floating in the water, so it is very difficult to reach a point, and there will even be a problem of probability. Everyone's height, weight, and strength are different, and the tension of the spring rope is also different, but we have to make the movements of 11 people uniform. Hua Xiaoyi said.
The girls practiced for 8 to 12 hours a day hanging in the air for more than ten meters, and at the end of each day, they felt like they were falling apart, but the next day it was all over again. In order to simulate the koi, the actors will also observe the posture of the fish, Hua Xiaoyi said: "The fish has a kind of spiritual inspiration, sometimes it turns and swims away in an instant. There may be 50 or 100 movements that you see now, but in fact, there are hundreds or even thousands of movements that we try to practice, and then choose the best among them.
