Why is it that many lung cancers are found to be at an advanced stage?

Who needs to be on high alert?

Poke** to find out right away.

Early stage lung cancer usually has no obvious symptomsBy the time symptoms appear, they tend to have progressed to an advanced stage, ** the chances are relatively low. Therefore,Early detection, early diagnosis, and early diagnosis can improve the survival rate of lung cancer patients

Early screening for lung cancerIt is an important measure for the prevention and control of lung cancer.

The purpose of early lung cancer screening is to detect potential lung cancer lesions through examinations and tests in the absence of obvious symptoms, so that patients have more choices and better outcomes.

At present, the accepted gold standard for lung cancer screening is low-dose thin-slice CT. CT scans have higher resolution than chest X-rays and are able to detect pulmonary nodules more accurately.

There are concerns that CT radiation may cause harm to the body. In fact, the current low-dose thin-slice CT technology has become more and more mature, and the radiation dose is less than one-fifth of that of ordinary CT. A low-dose CT is less than a seven-hour long-haul aircraft.

In addition, there are now studies that suggest that biomarker testing can also be used for lung cancer screening, for example through specific biomarker detection in blood or breath to aid in early lung cancer screening.

So

When should early lung cancer screening start?

Who needs to carry out?

Patients aged 40 years with any of the following risk factors are recommended to have a low-dose spiral CT for screening once a year

Smoking 20 pack-years or have smoked 20-pack-year quit time 15 years;

Note: Number of years of smoking packs = number of packs smoked per day (20 cigarettes per pack) Number of years of smoking.

History of environmental or high-risk occupational exposures (e.g., asbestos, beryllium, uranium, etc.; or work and live in poor air quality, long-term exposure to second-hand smoke, kitchen fumes);

Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diffuse pulmonary fibrosis or previous history of pulmonary tuberculosis;

Previous malignancy or family history of lung cancer.
