This time, France is really in a hurry.
France** Macron did not expect that the recent wave of domestic workers' strikes has been higher and higher, and the voice of "Macron is out of class" resounded throughout the major cities in France.
As the Russian-Ukrainian conflict enters its third year, France's Macron was the first to break the norm and said on February 26, "The possibility of sending Western troops to Ukraine cannot be ruled out." ”
According to the report, Macron insisted that "every effort will be made to prevent Russia from winning this conflict." ”
Macron also announced that a "new coalition" would be formed to supply Ukraine with "medium and long-range missiles and bombs."
On February 24, local time, Italian Prime Minister Meloni, Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau, the rotating president of the European Council and Belgian Prime Minister De Cro, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen arrived in Kyiv for a visit.
At this time, the leaders of all parties came to Ukraine to cheer up Zelensky.
From a completely personal point of view, there are five aspects worth paying attention to in response to Macron's sudden remarks:
First, on the occasion of the second anniversary of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, leaders of Western countries and organizations organized a delegation to visit Ukraine, and they did a lot of work on the surface, but the actual effect was limited, because Europe is not monolithic, detached from Germany, and has different hearts. However, judging from the course of this war, as long as the war does not end, the West will intensify its efforts. Judging from the situation of Ukraine, now there is not only a lack of ammunition, but also a lack of fighters, and there is also a realistic possibility for NATO to send troops, because Ukraine can no longer fight.
Second, because Russia has recently achieved a series of achievements on the battlefield in Ukraine, this also reflects that many in the West do not want to end the conflict, but choose to continue to maintain the war, and want to continue to consume and attack Russia through the issue of aid to Ukraine and funding. Although there is no consensus on the "Western sending troops", this is a very dangerous signal.
Third, factors such as serious differences in aid to Ukraine within Europe, the difficulty in implementing US aid, and the ineffectiveness of Western sanctions against Russia have made the war situation in Ukraine more challenging.
The West has been assisting Ukraine for more than two years, and now it cannot be said that it will be abandoned, otherwise it will be "a bamboo basket for nothing".
Fourth, the EU now sees the effects of U.S. control and wants to get rid of internal distractions from the U.S., and over time, the West may be more considerate of alternatives to war. And France, a country with a population of just over 60 million, is not at all an opponent of Russia in terms of war strength and comprehensive national strength.
Fifth, judging from Macron's remarks, it cannot be ruled out that there are personal motives to deliberately come out and divert attention, and at the most sensitive and critical moment of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the remarks of "the West sending troops" are to divert the world's attention and reduce the effect of the French people's special attention to him.
I have to say that Macron's remarks are a bit radical, and the West's move to send troops will have a more serious impact on the Russian-Ukrainian battlefield, does NATO really want to push forward with World War III?
