The South Korean side said on the 15th that it would revise the "Regulations on Bullet Casings for Army Marksmanship Training" and delete the content requiring soldiers to collect all bullet casings.

The military plans to revise Article 46 of the current Army Regulations, which states that "soldiers must turn in 100% of the shells at the shooting range" to "Soldiers must turn in used shells at the shooting range**" by next month. Those who could not find the shells could submit the documents with the authorization of the commander.

The South Korean Army has very strict rules for recording all bullets used by soldiers, although other branches of the military, such as the Navy, do not take such strict measures. Each soldier had to submit exactly the same number of cartridge casings as the bullets they used at the shooting range, and if they didn't, they were punished.

Such strict bullet control is to prevent someone from smuggling bullets out. South Korea has a very strict gun control policy, requiring even legal gun owners to store their ** at their local police station.

In rare cases, where cartridge casings are lost, units or units usually stop training, looking for lost cartridge casings. To prevent such accidents from happening, soldiers usually install a shell trap on the gun, which has sparked complaints about causing the gun to malfunction slightly.

At present, special forces, including those under the Special Operations Command of the South Korean Army, are piloting a new policy of more relaxed shells**. Based on this trial run, the Army will review whether and how to modify the policy, as well as how to implement it.

Even if the terms are amended, they will not apply to recruit training and reserve force training.
