Sticking window flowers is a traditional festival custom in China. Recently, Yang Shujin, a villager of Xiaozhang Village, Fuguo Street, Zhanhua District, cut out a "dragon" window flower with strong regional characteristics in order to welcome the arrival of the Spring Festival in the Year of the Dragon.

Recently, a reporter from Dazhong.com met Yang Shujin. "It's almost the Year of the Dragon, so I prepared a lot of red paper in advance to make some dragon-related window flowers for everyone, and I also want to make people fall in love with traditional handmade paper-cutting in this way. Yang Shujin said. She has been in contact with the craft of paper-cutting for more than 20 years, and every Spring Festival, she will use the scissors and red paper in her hand to cut out different works to send good wishes to everyone.

Afterwards, Yang Shujin showed her craftsmanship on the spot. She first sketched the pattern on the paper with a pen, then picked up the scissors and nimbly cut them. Knife after knife, as the pattern gradually took shape, a soaring dragon leaped onto the paper. I saw that the dragon's eyebrows and eyes were vivid, and the dragon's whiskers and dragon claws were full of majesty.

I love paper-cutting, which has become an indispensable part of my life, and as long as I have time, I will never leave the scissors. Yang Shujin told reporters. As a kind of hollow art, paper-cutting can give people a visual sense of transparency and artistic enjoyment, it is not only a beautiful work of art, but also a kind of cultural inheritance and expression. Paper-cutting made Yang Shujin feel the unique charm and profundity of traditional Chinese culture, and she hoped that more young people could love and cherish this excellent traditional culture.

Yang Shujin introduced that the window flowers have a wide range of themes and rich contents, including traditional patterns such as peonies, twelve genera, and blessing characters, and can also be combined with modern figure paintings, landscape paintings, etc. Yang Shujin said that when he was a child, he would put window flowers in his home every year during the Chinese New Year to add to the festive atmosphere. The red window flowers have become a landmark object of the Spring Festival, and have also become a beautiful memory and lingering feelings about the New Year in her heart. It is this feeling that has made Yang Shujin persist all the time.

The Spring Festival of the Year of the Dragon is coming, the "Dragon" window flower in the hands of Yang Shujin is not only a small work of art, but also carries the blessing of Yang Shujin to the Year of the Dragon, in addition to the dragon pattern, Yang Shujin also cut a lot of goldfish, longevity peach and other works, in order to entrust the good wishes for the New Year.
