Four misunderstandings about Pu er tea!

Mondo Culture Updated on 2024-02-20

1. Tea washing is not to wash off the "dust".

"Tea washing" is a more popular saying. From the perspective of scientific brewing, "tea washing" can also be called "waking up tea", its main purpose is to increase the temperature of tea and tea making utensils, which is more conducive to the effect of tea stretching and tea juice leaching, and is not "dust removal" as everyone usually thinks.

2. Raw tea will become old raw tea after a long time, and it will never become mature tea.

The fundamental difference between raw tea and ripe tea is that the processing technology is different, ripe tea is more than raw tea has one more process of Woldui fermentation, although raw tea will be transformed into old raw tea for a long time, the soup color and quality tend to be close to ripe tea, but it will never become mature tea.

3. The "nest" in the middle of Pu'er tea is not for the sake of missing catties and two.

In the process of making Pu'er tea, there is a link called autoclaving, which is to first steam loose tea until soft, pour it into a cloth bag to close it, tie it, knot it, then knead it into a dough, and finally press it into a cake shape or a tuo shape with a stone mill or machine. The position where the bag is closed and knotted during pressing is the place where the tea nest is formed.

4. Pu'er tea cannot be stored in the refrigerator.

Pu'er tea should be stored in a ventilated, cool, dry, odorless, and pollution-free environment. Generally speaking, as long as it is not exposed to direct sunlight or rain, the environment is clean and hygienic, and there is no other odor in ventilation, while the refrigerator is easy to make the tea absorb the odor and is not conducive to the post-fermentation of Pu'er tea, so it cannot be stored in the refrigerator.
