Valmet will supply electrostatic precipitators (ESPs) to the existing boilers at Nordic Paper's B Ckhammar mill in Kristinehamn, Sweden. The equipment is expected to be delivered and put into operation by the end of 2025.
This order is part of Nordic Paper's investment project. The aim of the investment is to further improve the sustainability and competitiveness of the B Ckhammar mill. This mill produces unbleached kraft paper of different qualities, mainly for packaging. The installation of the new electrostatic precipitator will reduce the plant's dust emissions by more than two-thirds.
The order was included in Valmet's new orders for the fourth quarter of 2023 for an undisclosed amount.
Jonas Gestranius, Product Sales Manager, Environmental Systems at Valmet's Pulp & Energy business line, said: "We are delighted that B Ckhammar has chosen us as its main supplier. The new project will further strengthen the cooperation between the two parties in terms of breadth and depth. It is not only a milestone in the development of both companies, but also a testament to the strength of Valmet's state-of-the-art electrostatic precipitator technology. This technology enables our customers to achieve near-zero emissions while supporting our goal of improving our customers' operational performance with Valmet's extensive experience, technology and service capabilities. ”
