A 23-year-old Russian man recently revealed that he trained and used the Newbie Assistance Program on ChatGPT to filter the dating profiles of 5,239 girls and then date the best match until he found his soon-to-be wife. A year ago, Alexander Zadan tweeted that it took him just 23 hours to write an academic article using ChatGPT, making waves on the Russian-language community Runet for the first time. A few days ago, the young Russian IT professional made headlines again, this time because he used the same AI tool to filter thousands of ** dating profiles and relied on his tips and advice to find the perfect partner and then make her his wife. Zadan's story was first told through a series of posts on Twitter, sparking a heated debate about the ethics of using AI tools to find love online. While the 23-year-old acknowledges that his story could change the way others think about online dating, he did point out that ChatGPT has its limitations and that he needs to be physically involved to connect with his date.

It all started with Alexander's disappointing experience on popular dating apps like Tinder. He would swipe left, then right, and spark a conversation with a potential match, and then that person would disappear. It's a huge waste of time, but after getting acquainted with ChatGPT, he wondered if there was a way to use AI tools to make his dating experience more efficient.

Zadan first asked ChatGPT to go through the dating profiles of 5,239 women, and based on some filters, he deleted content that he didn't think he would click on, such as fewer than two profiles**, astrological references, religious references, pro-war statements, and overly "exposed"**. He feels like it's an important part of the process for both him and the girls because they don't waste time interacting.

Then came the hard part – training ChatGPT to communicate with the remaining potential matches on his behalf. In an interview with Settlers Media, Alexander said it took him about 120 hours of work to bring the AI tool to a level he was happy with. In order to do this, he feeds it the previous conversation with the girl, sets up response validation, and monitors the tool as much as he can. Still, the experience wasn't perfect....

At one point, ChatGPT arranged a date with a girl without informing him, which caused the girl to have to wait for him for more than an hour and a half (which he still deeply regrets), while on another occasion the AI program arranged a date in Moscow's Pisa Park, a Moscow forest where a notorious serial killer dumped the bodies of his victims back in the early 21st century.

In total, ChatGPT helped Zadin go on 12 dates, including one with his future bride, Katarina. AI tools are also very involved in the dating process, and the 23-year-old is advised to talk about his childhood, parents, goals and values during the date to best assess each candidate's fit for a long-term relationship. The Russian man claimed that he even asked ChatGPT how it provided its services to Karina and was "agreed" thanks to its advice.

Alexander clarified that he did play a role in the selection process, since he reviewed every interaction he had with the dating girl and provided his experience to the GHAT GPT for an objective evaluation.

"We must not forget about emotional interactions," Zadan said. ”。I went to the meeting, I was already involved - I assessed whether the girl was a good fit for me. Based on the results of the appointment, I made an assessment (what I liked and what I didn't like) and added it to the database. It then decides whether to continue the communication or not. ”

Alexander's future bride, Karina, has not yet commented on his use of ChatGPT during his date, but the IT professional claims that Alexander told her about it a year ago and that she is still with him, so ......As for the public's reaction, Zadan acknowledged the moral issues of using AI tools to find love online, but claimed that it was up to the online community to determine its boundaries.

After spending 120 hours of his time and $1,432 in API costs, Alexander feels that ChatGPT has saved him a lot of time and money.
