Previously, through several rounds of dialogue, the United States temporarily stopped further interference in the Taiwan Strait issue, but Japan is obviously not willing to stop there.According to a report by Japan, Taro Aso, former Japanese prime minister and current vice president of the Liberal Democratic Party, publicly stated during a speech that "something happens in Taiwan" will inevitably happen, and it will also become a crisis that threatens Japan's survival, and if Taiwan is not allowed to fight, it will be difficult to rescue the Japanese in Taiwan.
Aso also called on Japan to send submarines to the Taiwan Strait to carry out activities. The spokesman of the Chinese Embassy in Japan also refuted the incident, saying that the Japanese politicians who arbitrarily discussed China's internal affairs and advocated meddling in China's internal affairs, which was completely self-sufficient and ill-intentioned.
In fact, such remarks as "if there is something wrong with Taiwan, there is something wrong with Japan" can be said to have appeared frequently in various speeches by Japanese politicians in the past few years, and this remark was first put forward by the late former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo.
The reason why there is such an outrageous remark that "if there is something wrong with Taiwan, there is something wrong with Japan", is actually that Japan deliberately exaggerates the tension between China and Japan and creates an opportunity to interfere in the Taiwan Strait issue.
Since then, Japan has always regarded China as its biggest challenge in East Asia, and the following editions have continued this policy.
In order to contain China, on the one hand, Japan has cooperated with the United States to participate in various measures to suppress China's economy, such as joining the "Chip Quadripartite Security Alliance" formed by the United States to suppress China's semiconductor industry, and on the other hand, it has actively used territorial disputes to create an encirclement network against China.
In the East China Sea, Japan has repeatedly hyped up the dispute between the Diaoyu Islands and China and Japan in the East China Sea in recent years, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has even repeatedly said that China's development in the East China Sea is "unacceptable".
In the South China Sea, Japan has actively contacted Vietnam, the Philippines and other countries, and used the so-called "security capability enhancement support" mechanism to send military supplies and equipment to the Philippines to help it strengthen its maritime monitoring capabilities.
As for the most important issue in the Taiwan Strait, Japan naturally has to take the opportunity to intervene.
Since Pelosi's visit to Taiwan in 2022, relevant Japanese politicians have repeatedly made insulting remarks on the Taiwan Strait issue.
During last year's G7 summit, Fumio Kishida repeatedly advocated that "China will never be allowed to use force to change the status quo in the Taiwan Strait" and exaggerated the "threat" to regional security posed by the PLA's patrol activities in the Taiwan Strait.
In order to show its support for the Taiwan authorities, Japan also followed Pelosi's example of visiting Taiwan and sent a delegation of parliamentarians to visit Taiwan.
In Japan's plan, as long as the Taiwan Strait issue cannot be resolved for a long time and the two sides of the strait continue to maintain the status quo, China will not be able to withdraw its hand to deal with Japan.
Once Taiwan is recovered, China's future strategic focus will inevitably shift to the western Pacific region, and Japan may no longer be able to compete with China in the East China Sea.
For this reason, Japan** and relevant LDP politicians can only continue to create excuses and reasons to endorse interference in the Taiwan Strait issue.
Therefore, we can see that in the past two years, especially last year, Japanese politicians have constantly reread the remarks that "if there is something wrong with Taiwan, there is something wrong with Japan", and this time they even linked the trend of the situation in the Taiwan Strait with Japan's affairs.
This is not only an excuse for interfering in Taiwan Strait affairs, but also a misjudgment of the situation by the Taiwan authorities.
According to Japanese politicians, "something happens in Taiwan" that has a bearing on Japan's security, so will this make people think that Japan will send troops to intervene after a conflict breaks out in the Taiwan Strait?
Once the Taiwan authorities understand this meaning, the contradictions between the two sides of the strait will certainly continue to intensify.
But then again, with the People's Liberation Army (PLA) already patrolling the Taiwan Strait on a regular basis, there are fewer and fewer opportunities for Japan to interfere in the affairs of the Taiwan Strait.
In particular, during the 2022 military exercises around Taiwan, the PLA also simulated responding to external interference and demarcated exercise areas in the waters northeast and southeast of Taiwan.
Even if Japan intervened, it would not be able to play any role. For China, the best way to resolve the situation in the Taiwan Strait is to create one new established fact after another.
Don't look at the Japanese politicians shouting so much that "if there is something wrong with Taiwan, there is something wrong with Japan", this is actually just lip service, and the current PLA patrols in the Taiwan Strait have become the norm.
Even crossing the "24 nautical mile line" is gradually becoming the norm, and in the face of these established facts, Japan's constant shouting of slogans can only show that Japan is becoming more and more anxious.
