Dong Hongru, plugged into Yugong,Years ago, he brought back the tree species to save Sumu Mountain
At a distance of 240 kilometers northwest of Beijing, there is a place known as:"Internet celebrities"The forest park is called Sumu Mountain. Every year, 100,000 tourists come here, of which nearly 40% are from Beijing.
However, in the 50s of the last century, it was a barren mountain with no grass, and it was called a place where "birds don't".
Dong Hongru, an ordinary and great person. In 1958, he walked alone into the barren Sumu Mountain and began his journey of planting trees. However, he tried his best to grow it for 7 years, but he didn't see any results.
Still, he didn't give up. He firmly believes that if you persevere, you can create miracles. So, he came to the forest farm in Weichang County, Hebei Province, brought back the North China larch tree, and successfully planted this tree on Sumu Mountain.
Since then, Dong Hongru has started his 42-year career as a tree planter. He spends every day in the forest, giving every moment in silence. Today, Sumu Mountain has become a plant with more than 20 acres of plantations and 980,000 acres of natural shrub forest, more than 100 species of perennial birds, and the forest coverage rate is as high as 748% of the green "Great Wall".
This once barren place has now become a treasure land for Beijing and Tianjin to fix wind sand, transport green water, and send fresh breeze. Dong Hongru, his deeds touched every one of us.
He told us with his own actions that as long as we have dreams and perseverance, we will be able to create our own miracles. He is our role model, and his spirit will always inspire us to move forward.
Challenging the barren mountains and guarding the green, 19-year-old Dong Hongru left his hometown and walked a 45-kilometer arduous journey alone to Sumu Mountain, the "Everest" of Ulanqab City.
He worked hard and selflessly to protect this majestic mountain range that is 27 kilometers long, about 19 kilometers wide, and has an average altitude of more than 1,500 meters.
At his insistence, the ranger station was established and he became the first ranger here. Despite the difficult conditions, he never flinched, but strengthened his determination to protect this piece of green.
In the past 42 years, he has witnessed the ecological changes of Sumu Mountain, and interpreted the concept of "harmonious coexistence between man and nature" with his own actions. His story allows us to see the human reverence for nature, respect for life, and expectations for the future.
Dong Hongru is a forest ranger who adheres to his beliefs and is not afraid of hardships and hardships. He built a dilapidated forest ranger station on Mount Sumu, surrounded by barren hillsides and stone villages.
Despite repeated failures in his attempts to plant poplars, birches, apricots and elms, he did not give up. Convinced that miracles can only be done in difficult places, he was determined to plant and maintain trees on Mount Sumu.
So he brought back the tree seeds from the Hebei paddock and successfully planted the trees. In 1960, Sumushan Forest Farm was formally established, and Dong Hongru and Zhao Shouli contributed to the development of the forest farm.
Although the challenges they face are still arduous, they continue to explore, expand the planting team, and strive for the greening of Sumu Mountain.
Dong Hongru was thrilled to discover a good-growing larch tree in 1964, but he did not immediately plant it on a large scale. In the spring of the following year, he heard that the planting of North China larch in Longtoushan Forest Farm in Weichang County, Hebei Province had been successful, so he took Zhao Shouli to study and brought back 80 catties of North China larch seeds.
After returning to Sumu Mountain, they began breeding and experimenting, and in the autumn they found that the survival rate was as high as 85%, which made them ecstatic. In 1967, they carried more than 70 pounds of saplings and water tanks, went back and forth to the foot of the mountain and the top of the mountain every day, and after a month of struggle, they successfully planted more than 10,000 acres of larch.
Seeing the green pine forests dyeing the barren mountains green in autumn, Dong Hongru jumped up excitedly and shouted to the mountain, "Sumu Mountain is alive, we are victorious!" Two lines of hot tears flowed silently down his dark cheeks......
Dong Hongru's dedication: planting trees is a kind of perseverance, a kind of belief, a kind of happiness From leading the workers to divide Sumu Mountain into five forest areas, mobilizing cadres and the masses to carry out afforestation battles, to being promoted to the deputy director of Xinghe County Forestry Bureau, further improving the forest coverage rate of Sumu Mountain, increasing tree species according to local conditions, and cultivating shrubs and flowers, Dong Hongru has always adhered to his belief and regarded planting trees as a kind of happiness.
Although some people laughed at him for being stupid and called him a "tree idiot", he always insisted on his choice and continued to stay in Sumu Mountain to plant trees. In 1994, Dong Hongru was elected vice chairman of the Xinghe County CPPCC, but he did not leave Sumu Mountain, but chose to contract a piece of forest land in Su Mu Mountain, cultivating new saplings while teaching tree planting experience, and continued to exert his residual heat for "planting good trees".
His spirit has infected many people, and thousands of volunteers have joined the reforestation army. Dong Hongru's spirit is like an ageless pine on Sumu Mountain, recording the spirit of afforestation in Sumu Mountain, and telling the Chinese story of "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets".
His story tells us that only by sticking to our beliefs can we truly realize our dreams, and this kind of dream is not only personal, but also national and national.
Sumu Mountain, known as the "Little Xing'an Mountains", has been upgraded to a national 4A-level tourist attraction, a national forest experience base, a national walking base and a national mountaineering training base.
