Lane Encounter Archives
On the east side of Zhongshan Middle Road in the ancient city of Quanzhou, there is an inconspicuous narrow alley, which can only allow one person to pass, this alley that is easy to be ignored, once had a beautiful name - Lanqiao Lane. This alley extends eastward, reaches the Fuwen Temple, then turns south to the vicinity of Cai Qing Temple, and finally turns into the former Tushan Street Zhennan Bridge.
Lanqiao Lane is located between Zhongshan Middle Road and Quanzhou Confucian Temple.
In the changes of the years, Lanqiao Lane has become Lanqiao Lane, the house number has been replaced, the road surface has been widened, and now only a few "Lanqiao Lane" house numbers are left at the head and end of the lane, and the vicinity of Zhennan Bridge has also become a busy cross street. What has not changed is the strong cultural atmosphere adjacent to the Fuwen Temple.
Walking through the entire Lanqiao Lane, in the transformation of time and space, it seems that I have walked into a "Blue Bridge Dream".

Looking for dreams in Lanqiao Lane
The entrance of Lanqiao Lane is hidden behind the greenery of Zhongshan Middle Road.
Lanqiao Lane is located in the southern corner of the ancient city of Quanzhou, Sian Chay Pu Blue Bridge Realm, the north end of the alley is located between No. 114 and No. 116 Zhongshan Middle Road, and the south end of the alley is located near the south gate of the ancient city of Quanzhou. Yang Qingjiang, director of the Quanzhou Historical and Cultural Center, said that there was a martyr woman named Lan Mingniang in the alley, and there was no special ancestral hall, but she was very well-known among the people, so Zhennanqiao and Nanqiao Lane were also called Blue Bridge and Blue Bridge Lane. In the alley, the Blue Bridge Palace, the temple of the realm, no longer exists.
Qing Daoguang's "Jinjiang County Chronicles of the Daughters" contains: Lan Mingniang, the fiancée of Huang Xiangqi in all births. Huang pawn, Ming Niang heard the obituary, that is, mourning and death, and sometimes the division set up the master to enter the martyr's shrine to worship it. His family lives in the South Gate Bridge, which is named Blue Bridge.
The east and west sides of the Fuwen Temple are equipped with the tablets of the Confucian sages, named the East Order and the West Order, and this lane is located on the west side of the West Order, so it is also called the West Order Lane.
In the house number change decades ago, Blue Bridge Lane was simplified to Blue Bridge Lane.
At the mouth of Zhongshan Middle Road, Yang Qingjiang introduced the origin of Lanqiao Lane.
Lanqiao Lane leads directly to the bustling Zhongshan Road.
There is a section of the alley that is dimly lit, and few people have walked around, and after walking through, you can see the door number of Lanqiao Lane.
In the middle of Lanqiao Lane, the door number next to the west sequence of the Fuwen Temple is "Pan Palace".
Yang Qingjiang introduced that there was a pond here, called Qingcao Pond, which was formed naturally and could be used to pass through the Confucian Temple.
Li Jianshe grew up in the rice noodle lane next to Lanqiao Lane, in his memory, the former Lanqiao Lane is far less spacious than it is now, only about 1 meter wide, and now the pocket park in the alley is once the jujube garden and air-raid shelter of Li Jia'an Heng porcelain firm, the Li family moved from Jinjiang Chidian to Zhongshan Middle Road in the late Qing Dynasty to open a store, and transported Dehua ceramics directly to the south gate by small wooden boats and bamboo rows, and then transported to the home of Mifen Lane with a small sampan. After the back door of Lijia Zaoyuan is opened, it is Lanqiao Lane and Fuwen Temple.

The former Lanqiao Lane may be folded from Pangongkou to Zhennan Bridge.
Yang Qingjiang said that after the Lanqiao Lane south to Cai Qing Ancestral Hall, it is impossible to test whether it is to go west to Zhennan Bridge through Pangongkou, or directly to Nantong Tumen Street to Zhennan Bridge.
Lanqiao Lane to watch the Spring Festival Gala
Li Dongcai, a descendant of the Anheng Li family, was born in 1943, and in his hand-painted picture of the ancestral property of the Li family in his childhood, the back door of the Li family can be seen open in Lanqiao Lane.
In the memory of Li Dongcai, a descendant of Anheng Lee, Lanqiao Lane is the most interesting place in the ancient city of Quanzhou, out of the back door is the magnificent Quanzhou Mansion Confucian Temple, in 1921, the Confucian Temple was founded in the civilian primary school, the earliest nearby residents called it "Confucius Primary School", and the surrounding children basically received enlightenment education here. In 1955, the civilian primary school was renamed "Quanzhou Second Central Primary School", in the 70s of the last century, it was renamed "People's Primary School", and in the 80s of the last century, it was changed back to "Quanzhou Second Central Primary School". In 1932, the famous writer Ba Jin also lived in the Confucian Temple of Quanzhou Mansion for a period of time, and today's Overseas Chinese Building was still Kuixing Building when he was a child.
On both sides of Zhongshan Road in my childhood, there were all kinds of snacks sold in the early morning, such as fried dough sticks, fried cakes, fried vegetables and so on; the salty and sweet (candied fruit) of Pangongkou, gypsum; Yangchun and Yihe sauce shops at the entrance of Tushan Street; The dry food shop of Chengfa and Maofa is full of delicacies from the mountains and seas, and the fragrance is overflowing. In addition, the largest Chinese vegetable market in Quanzhou at that time, with a sea of people, is comparable to the picture scene of "Qingming Riverside Picture".
Lanqiao Lane also has a wealth of cultural and entertainment projects, there are "villain books" on the street (* stalls, foreign films, Goldfish Lane entrance of the Daguang Cinema, every afternoon to evening two or three movies are always full, occasionally when children's films are screened, the school will also charter the venue. There is a public theater outside the Susi Bridge, where every night there is a high-class opera or a city play, and the drum music is noisy and lively.
In 2016, the CCTV Spring Festival Gala set up a branch venue in the Quanzhou Confucian Temple, and in 2019, the CCTV Spring Festival Opera Gala once again took the Quanzhou Confucian Temple as one of the three sub-venues.
