Wow! It's beautiful! In the library sharing space on the 4th floor of the Changqiao Street Community Cultural Activity Center in Xuhui District, when the teacher displayed the glass painting artworks, the children cheered and expressed their heartfelt admiration. Relying on the special Spring Festival distribution activities provided by the Shanghai Public Cultural Content Supply Platform, Changqiao Street brought a hand-painted glass painting activity to parent-child families in the jurisdiction.
The event specially invited Xia Lijuan, a teacher from Shanghai Nashan Cultural Communication, to give a lecture. Xia Lijuan combined her rich experience and profound artistic background to introduce the history and skills of glass painting to the participants. As an ancient craft, glass painting was often used to decorate the windows of medieval cathedrals, and the colorful glass presented a more varied and beautiful scene under different light.
During the day's activities, the glass became the carrier of the children's creation, giving the glass painting art a new charm. Xia Lijuan prepared a variety of drawing reference patterns, and patiently instructed the children to use adhesive tape to paste the patterns in the glass, and then use gold pencils to trace the outline of the patterns. After completing the rough outline, the children can use their paintbrushes to dip acrylic paint and color the picture in a dot painting method, creating a vibrant and creative glass painting.
Parents and children cooperated with each other in the activity to complete the glass painting work together. When they see their work, they are full of a sense of accomplishment and happiness.
