Sima Qian, a "Historical Record" that shocked the world and wept ghosts and gods, is not only a monument of historiography, but also a model of articles. But Sima Qian never wrote poetry, and he did not see any of his other works.
Cao Zhi Cao Zijian, known as a talented man, has excellent poetry and endowment, but his articles have not been handed down. In addition, his poems are placed in the Han and Wei dynasties, which are indeed quite wonderful masterpieces, but compared with the poems of the Tang and Song dynasties, they are a bit insufficient.
Cao Xueqin, a "Dream of Red Mansions" spans ancient and modern times, and it is still an insurmountable peak. Li Bai doesn't seem to like to write rhythmic poems very much, and there are not many rhythmic poems that have been handed down, so he probably doesn't like to be bound by rhythms. But he is the holy hand of quatrains, whether it is a seven-character quatrain or a five-character quatrain, he has extremely high attainments. There are many such works, and almost every one of them is a masterpiece.

Su Shi's quatrain lacks the charm and atmosphere of the Tang people, but Song poems have their own style, and they are known for their beauty and delicacy, which is not the same way as the rich and mellow beauty of the Tang people, so it can only be said that each has its own strengths.
There is not much difference between Li and Su in the quatrain, and there is a possibility of a higher level. But Li Bai's poetry has the highest achievement in the ancient style, and the most influential is also the ancient style.
Therefore, in any case, in terms of overall achievements and influence on later generations, Su Shi cannot be compared with Li Shi, and Su Shi is slightly inferior to Li Shi.
Li Bai's poems are almost purely based on talent and affection, and they are integrated without revealing any traces of carving. In terms of artistry alone, only Du Fu's poems may be comparable to Li Bai's poems, and except for Du Fu, no one's poems in history can compete with Li Bai.

Some people count Li Bai's praise of Yang Yuhuan's Qingping tone as words, and even Li Bai's three-five-seven character poems are also counted as words, which is obviously inappropriate.
Although there are very few of Li's lyrics, they are all high-quality, and those who have read these two poems of Li should know that these two words have changed the wild and elegant style of Li Bai's poems, and quickly entered the realm of mournful and low words, but the realm is open and the rendering of emotions is extremely accurate.
Li Bai's words are classics, no matter from that point of view, they are all high-quality. It is a fine product in the lyrics of the Tang Dynasty, and it is still a fine product in the lyrics of the Song Dynasty.
But even so, Li Ci and Su Ci are still not comparable.
The reason is very simple, Su Shi has too many lyrics, although his poems were banned during the Huizong period, there are still more than 340 lyrics that have been handed down. And among the more than 300 articles, almost half of them are high-quality products.
Su Shi's words, open and bold atmosphere, but there are a lot of tactful and beautiful masterpieces, he can write both kinds of words, easy to read, such as Jiangchengzi "remember dreams", "Mizhou hunting", "Dingfeng Wave" "don't listen to the sound of the forest beating leaves", "Butterfly Love Flower" "Spring Scene", "Fortune Operator", "Huangzhou Dinghui Courtyard Residence", and so on.
It's okay to have these fine works, the problem is that Su Shi also has words that surpass the boutiques, such as "Nian Nujiao" and "Chibi Nostalgia", such as "Water Tune Song Head" and "When is the Bright Moon", these two words are the best in the entire Song Dynasty, and they are also the best in all the lyrics of the Tang Dynasty and Song people.
Therefore, compared with Su Shi, Li Bai is slightly inferior, and Li Bai is completely defeated by comparing quantity and quality with the influence of later generations.
3.Li Bai's articles are too few; Su Shi's article is too much
Although Li Bai is famous for his poems, his articles are also extremely exquisite, but unfortunately his articles have not been handed down much, probably "Dapeng meets Xi has a bird endowment", "Book with Han Jingzhou", "Spring Night Banquet Peach and Plum Garden Preface" and so on.
Dapeng Yuxi has a bird Fu" is called Fu, but in fact, it has dispersed culture. But this article is not very good, not even a boutique, just an ordinary article.
and Han Jingzhou Book" and "Spring Night Banquet Peach and Plum Garden Preface", but it is the best and wonderful product in the article, although the subject matter is the article, the elegant atmosphere, the kind of momentum in one go, and Li Bai's poems are in the same vein. "Book with Han Jingzhou" is like a river rushing without stagnation, and "Spring Night Banquet Peach and Plum Garden Preface" is like a fairy cloud and Shu roll without sticking to the slightest dust.
Su Shi has a lot of articles, and there are many excellent works of clear words and beautiful sentences, but there are actually few that can compare with Li Bai's two superb articles, and Chibi Fu can barely compete with them. Although Su's other articles are also quite good, they always lack that fairy spirit and that uninhibited charm.
However, Su Shi's influence on later generations is obviously much stronger.
The reason for this is also relatively simple, Li Bai's articles are the same as poems, they are done in one go purely by talent, and there is no trace of human modification in natural carving. This kind of article is not studied by the younger generations of scholars, and their talents are not enough, so they can only worship the mountains and cannot be used as an example for learning.
And Su Shi's articles can be learned, although later generations have more fur and less essence, but at least they can be imitated. And Li Bai's articles are the same as his poems, it is difficult to even imitate them, and they can't even do it, and they really can't climb high.
To sum up, in terms of the overall achievements of literature, it is difficult to distinguish between the two great gods of Li and Su. It can only be said that each has its own strengths and advantages.
But in terms of influence, I think Su Shi is better. The reason why I say this is that in addition to the fact that the number of Su Shi's poems and articles is larger and it is easy to imitate and learn, it is also because Su Shi's style is more affinity.
Li Bai is extremely talented, but he has the problem of arrogance, and there are not many people who can get close to him. Su Shi is the opposite, he can chat with beggars and make friends with poor Li people, and the kind of humor that makes people feel more cordial.
Therefore, I think the crown of the first talent in history is more appropriate to wear on Su Shi's head.
