Qing Muzong Puyi's wife Guo Buluo Wanrong, as the last empress of the Qing Dynasty, although she was in a high position, she suffered from loneliness and smoke. Her life was full of the bonds of identity, and she never really enjoyed freedom. Wanrong's fate was predestined as early as when she was born, she came from a famous family, her father Guo Buluo Rongyuan was the Minister of the Interior of the Qing Dynasty, and her mother Aixin Jueluo Hengxiang was the granddaughter of Puxu, the king of Dingjun.

In 1922, Wanrong, who was only 16 years old, became the empress of Puyi with her outstanding appearance and prominent family background. Since then, the fates of Puyi, Wanrong and Wenxiu have been closely linked. In 1924, Pu Yi was driven out of the Forbidden City by Feng Yuxiang, and the three had to go to Tianjin. At first, Wanrong was very happy with this new environment, when she was just a girl and full of curiosity about everything. Pu Yi also allowed Wanrong to be presumptuous, and this time became the last intimate time for the emperor.

However, the good times did not last long, and Wen Xiu asked for divorce, which caused a sensation at home and abroad. Although Pu Yi has abdicated, he was once the emperor after all, and his concubine actually proposed "Hugh", so that he could not save face. Wen Xiu's behavior humiliated Pu Yi, and he directed his anger at Wanrong, believing that everything was caused by her. In the years that followed, Pu Yi became extremely violent towards Wanrong in words and deeds, and vented all his anger on her.

Under the dual pressure of emotion and physiology, Wanrong indulges in tobacco and discovers that the rising smoke can fill the emptiness in her soul. According to Wanrong's maid's recollection, Wanrong could smoke more than 80 cigarettes a day, and the whole room was shrouded in smoke. Smoking for a long time has seriously damaged Wanrong's health, and her body is getting weaker and weaker. Under the torture of illness, Wanrong's spirit gradually became problematic. During his captivity, Li Yanxia became the most important person in Wanrong's life.

After Japan's surrender in 1945, Pu Yi fled to Japan with his descendants and treasures, and abandoned Wanrong in Da Lizigou in Tonghua, Jilin. The tragic experience of the last empress Wanrong in captivityAs the last empress, Wanrong was not regarded as a useful person by her family, so she was eventually imprisoned in Yanji Prison. This kind of life is a huge gap for her, and it is difficult for her to bear, so she constantly screams about the anger and pain of her fate inside the prison.

The other prisoners were so disgusted with her that they even offered to put her to death. Only the two brothers, Li Yanxia and Li Yantian, sympathized with the unfortunate queen and often helped her. During her incarceration, she became an opium addict, and if she lacked opium, she would cry out for pain. Seeing this, Li Yanxia couldn't sit idly by, so he secretly made cigarette water and gave it to Wanrong regularly to alleviate his pain. For Wanrong, Li Yanxia's behavior gave her great warmth, so she was grateful to him.

In the last month of Wanrong's life, Li Yanxia became the last ray of light in her life. Despite Li Yanxia's meticulous care, Wanrong spent a month in prison before passing away. She died penniless, with only an ivory bonister left. In late June 1946, Wanrong, the last Empress of China, was tragically ended her life in chaos and filth.

At the time of her death, there was no one with her, and several prisoners took a tattered mat, wrapped her body, and threw it into the ditch outside the prison. After learning of this incident, Li Yanxia's mother was deeply sympathetic to Wanrong's plight. In her opinion, the queen's end should not have been so tragic. Therefore, Li Yanxia found a few old wooden planks in the prison, made a simple coffin, and buried Wanrong in a hidden place. Eventually, however, the place could not be found.

A simple wooden coffin and an ivory smoking gun finally buried this gorgeous queen, and Wanrong's life is embarrassing. Her fate is like the epitome of countless women under the feudal dynasty, and it is also a sign of the end of that era. Wanrong's life has experienced huge twists and turns, the first half of her life enjoys glory and wealth, but the second half of her life has endured hardships that ordinary people can hardly bear. She never really lived for herself in her life, and she never got real freedom.
