It's been two years, and the Russian-Ukrainian war has been going on for two full years, and now it's entering its third year. This war is nothing new for Western countries and the Ukrainian population. However, just when they are tired of this war, there are people who are pushing this war to continue.
On the second anniversary of the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine war, many politicians from Western countries have gathered in Kyiv, including Italian Prime Minister Meloni, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Belgian Prime Minister De Croo and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. This obvious move is undoubtedly cheering for Ukraine and allowing Zelensky to continue to push the war forward.
However, the reality is harsh. Although the EU has approved 50 billion euros worth of aid to Ukraine, this aid is mainly financial and not military. The $60 billion in U.S. military aid promised by the United States has been rejected and blocked by Congress, leaving Ukraine with a situation where logistics are close to exhaustion.
In such a situation, it is clear that mere verbal support and drawing a pie are not enough. Both Italy** and Canada** have taken practical action, signing a defense agreement with Ukraine and pledging to provide practical assistance. In addition, the G7 group also said that it will continue to provide assistance to Ukraine and hit Russia's ability to improve its war strength through sanctions.
However, sanctions against Russia are not limited to the economic sector, but also affect countries and companies such as China, North Korea, and Iran. The U.S. has imposed sanctions on a number of Chinese economic entities and individuals as it claims that Chinese companies have been providing military support to Russia. However, China's position on the Russia-Ukraine war has always been clear, and it has always been committed to promoting peace talks, while US sanctions can only have a futile effect.
Although the sanctions imposed by the United States and Europe are intended to suppress Russia, Russia has shown great resilience, and its economy has not collapsed as a result, but has achieved better economic growth figures than those of the United States and Europe. The economic and trade cooperation between China and Russia is also deepening, which makes Russia's dependence on the US and European markets gradually decrease.
Therefore, although the sanctions imposed by the United States and Europe on Russia are huge, the actual effect is not satisfactory. As far as China is concerned, the U.S. sanctions are just a small fight, and they have further strengthened the strategic cooperative relationship between China and Russia. In this international game, we will not passively accept the pressure and sanctions of others, but will firmly defend our legitimate rights and interests.
