Carbon sequestration national reserve forest is a national reserve forest with timber reserve as the goal and carbon sequestration and sink enhancement as the main purpose.
1. Carbon sink national reserve forest management system
According to the requirements of national reserve forest construction and standardized management, while ensuring the safety of timber in China, the construction of national reserve forest should be promoted from the traditional fast-harvest forest to the national reserve forest with carbon storage and sink increase in the direction of sustainable management. On the basis of the three construction modes of intensive plantation cultivation, transformation of existing forests and tending of young and middle-aged forests of national reserve forests, through artificial management measures and production and operation activities, the carbon sink of afforestation is increased, and the corresponding investigation, monitoring and measurement are carried out to ensure that the carbon sequestration and sink enhancement effect of carbon sink national reserve forests can be measured, reported and verified.
a).Intensive plantation cultivation. It is mainly suitable for long-term large-diameter timber forests, and is not suitable for short- and medium-cycle industrial raw material forests with a management cycle of less than 20 years. Intensive plantation cultivation should be based on the data of the third national land survey and land spatial planning, scientifically determine the afforestation plots, and strictly implement the relevant technical provisions of LY T 2253-2014. Advocate mixed coniferous and broad-leaved and broad-leaved mixed, and the mixed proportion of the main tree species should not exceed 70%.
b).Existing forest reform. In accordance with the relevant technical regulations of LY T 1690, LY T 1560-1999 and LY T 2787, the forest quality shall be improved through measures such as afforestation, thinning and replanting under the canopy, and the forest quality shall be improved through measures such as afforestation, thinning and replanting.

2. Cultivation of carbon sink intensive plantations to increase sinks

Management conditions:It is advisable to choose areas with high road density, convenient transportation, abundant labor resources and high business level.
