The Tang Dynasty poet Bai Juyi served in Hangzhou for a period of time, when he was far away from the court, indulging in the scenery of the south of the Yangtze River and the poetry and wine of his friends, and lived a relaxed and comfortable life. One summer, Bai Juyi inadvertently captured an interesting scene of a pair of young men and women meeting on the lotus pond, and wrote a song "Lotus Picking Song", which vividly depicts the happy scene of lovers meeting and fully demonstrates the youthful girlish beauty.

Bai Juyi's "Chinese Romance" allows us to unlock the beautiful scene of the ancients falling in love, although the ancients and the present have been separated for thousands of years, but in the matter of "love", it has a sense of resonance through time and space.

Lotus picking song [Tang] Baiju Yi Lingye lingers in the lotus wind, and the lotus is deep in the boat. Feng Lang bowed his head and smiled, and Biyu scratched his head and fell into the water.

"The water chestnut leaves linger in the lotus wind, and the lotus boat passes through the depths" means that on the rippling water surface of the clear water, the water chestnut leaves and lotus leaves are green, the breeze blows, the green leaves float on the lake, and the lotus flowers sway in the wind. It is precisely because of the shaking of the green leaves that the poet sees the "boat passage in the depths of the lotus", which is like a set of long shots in a movie, seeing a scenery first, and then presenting the activities of the characters in it.

Feng Lang bowed his head and smiled, and Biyu scratched his head and fell into the water", there is a small story in this. Legend has it that Mrs. Li, favored by Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, likes to tickle her head with a hosta, and from then on, people in the palace use hosta to scratch their heads, so "scratching the head" has become another name for the hairpin.

Deep in the lotus flowers, the cool breeze is blowing. The lotus girl met her sweetheart, the lovers met, and they told each other a thousand words, but this shy woman couldn't say a word, only lowered her head and smiled, and accidentally dropped the hairpin into the water. The poems describe these are the feelings that only a girl in love can have in a state of shyness and nervousness, which was carefully captured by Bai Juyi. As for what happened after the hosta fell into the lotus pond, Bai Juyi didn't describe it anymore, leaving it up to the reader's imagination.

This poem is kind and fluent, fresh and simple, giving people a sense of beauty of quiet years, young boys and girls and lotus flowers in the pond reflect each other, the love is moving, the meaning is leisurely, the style and artistic conception coexist, the song is gentle, the scenery is full, and the watchers are standing on the shore and staring, what is felt at this moment is about the endless reverie of beauty, and also interprets another posture of the youth of the ancients. Dialogue with the ancients in the feeling of beauty, enrich their hearts, whether it is the shy lotus pond girl thousands of years ago, or we strolling on the street after a thousand years, beauty is frozen because of discovery, and eternal because of appreciation.
