At the scene, volunteers lit up the children's "micro-wishes" and sent the blessings claimed by caring people to the children.
Delicious cakes, heart-warming wishes, thoughtful gifts, laughter and applause are intertwined ......Such a warm scene has become the norm for "dandelion" activities.
Dandelion means planting the seeds of love and sowing warmth and hope. In March 2022, the Yingde Municipal Committee of the Youth League, together with the Municipal Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Municipal Women's Federation, launched the Yingde City "Dandelion Warm Children's Heart" care for the growth of children in difficulty. After nearly two years of exploration, the project has attracted the support of a group of literary and artistic workers from the United Kingdom, Germany and all walks of life, and a total of 121 caring artists participated in the charity sale of 486 literary and artistic works, and more than 330,000 yuan was raised for the operation of the project, benefiting more and more children.
According to reports, the project takes the Youth League Municipal Committee, the Municipal Women's Federation, and the Municipal Federation of Literary and Art Circles as the "signal station" and "transmission tower", and the Municipal Volunteer Association as the main carrier, according to the needs and characteristics of children in distress in Wangbu, Yinghong, Donghua, Polo, Xiniu, Waterside, Kowloon and other directional towns, carefully set up the "six sends" action (that is, to send love, send to school, send tutors, send red propaganda, send safety, and send art), encourage children to participate in various collective activities of the project, and conduct homework counseling, interest development, self-care skills learning, and collective birthdays for childrento communicate and connect with each child. Establish a "one-to-one" assistance mechanism for children in special need of care, link the "Dream Fulfillment Micro Wish" project and public welfare forces from all walks of life, and give precise services, extensive attention, and accompany growth.
At present, the project has attracted nearly 100 volunteers to sign up, and more than 30 volunteers have become the backbone of the "Dandelion" service team, committed to meeting the actual needs of children's academic, emotional, psychological, communication, safety, etc.
The 2024 winter vacation has just begun, and the volunteers quickly determined the focus of the activity - organizing picture book storytelling sessions and research trips for the children, and carefully finalizing the research locations such as the Guangdong Provincial Science and Technology Museum and the Guangdong Provincial Museum, so that the children in difficulty can enrich their lives, broaden their horizons, and improve their literacy. During this period, many "wild goose return" college students took advantage of the time to return home during the winter vacation, actively signed up to participate in the "dandelion" activities, and used their knowledge and talents to help children in difficulty spend a warm winter vacation.
