After the death of Emperor Taiji, Hauge and Dolgon competed for the throne, and the two sides were at a stalemate, and finally Fulin ascended to the throne. After Fulin ascended the throne, Dorgon replaced him, and Hauge was quickly marginalized. So, why did Hauge lose so quickly this time?

1.First, compare the strength of both sides in the battle for the throne.
Since the Manchu Qing Dynasty implemented the Eight Banners system, whoever had the most Eight Banners would determine the balance of power.
Daishan (two red flags): I am old, I have no intention of fighting, I have no intention of fighting, I can fight when Nurhachi dies, why wait until now. Daishan's son was attached to the throne of Huang Taiji.

But there is one point, not every flag is monolithic, and there are many people who secretly pay attention to Dolgon, such as Daishan's two red flags, supporting Daishan's son and Dolgon's grandson. This is not an excuse, after all, at that time Dolgon was likely to become the first person in the Qing Dynasty.
Of course, strength cannot be compared only by flags, and the strength of the positive yellow flag and the positive red flag are certainly not on the same level. In this regard, the two yellow flags can no longer be accepted. Therefore, after the death of Huang Taiji, the Turghut tribe immediately sent three bulls to defend the core to stop Dolgon.
There is another reason why the two yellow flags support Hauge. After eradicating Mang Gurtai, Huang Taiji seized the Setulan Banner, put Hauge in power, and removed 8 oxen from his two yellow banners to increase his power. The two yellow flags and the blue flag are collectively called"Three flags"。This connection between Hauge and the Two Yellow Flags gives the Two Yellow Flags an advantage.
3.Match results.
Now, the struggle between the forces of husband and wife is that Dorgon has two white flags and some covert support, Hauge has the support of the first three, and the forces of the two sides are basically equal and they are unlikely to win.
In this case, the idea of canonizing the other sons of Huang Taiji was abandoned. Zilharang was the first to suggest such a possibility.
The idea satisfies Daishan's demands without compromising the dominance of the Two Yellow Flags, and with Dolgon's support, it no longer matters whether Hauge agrees or not.
In the end, Fulin was elected emperor.
Despite this, Dorgon was asked to summon the Emperor, showing his influence. Daishan eventually killed his own son and grandson to settle the matter.
Many people think that Dorgon is the loser in this battle, but this is not necessarily the case. In later days, Dorgon was granted"Emperor"and other titles. He is the only person in history who dares to take the emperor as his father.
4.Hauge's failure.
The last regent was Dolgon and Zilharang, who was above Dolgon. Zilharang was listed as regent for his meritorious service to the emperor, but in reality he was only a courtier of the crown prince. Hauge not only did not ascend the throne (Han), but also did not become regent.
